Indian EV manufacturer, Ultraviolette Automotive is the first brand to enter the western markets. It has announced a partnership with a Netherlands based motorcycle importer and distributor called MotoMondo to cater to not only the United Kingdom but also the Benelux region (which includes Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg).
Ultraviolette will introduce its performance e-bike called the F77 Mach 2 Recon as its first product for the foreign markets. The F77 Mach 2 Recon is made in India, and gets a 10.3kWh battery pack which gives it a generous claimed range of 323km (Indian driving conditions) along with a top speed of 155kmph (claimed). The bike gets three riding modes, along with a five-inch TFT digital cluster, auto-dimming lights, hill hold, ABS, dynamic stability control, and four levels of traction control. All in all, it is a premium offering meant for performance enthusiasts who are looking for technologically advanced electric motorcycles.
Ultraviolette has also announced an introductory on-road price of £8,499 (around Rs 9.71 lakh) for the F77 Mach 2 Recon. This offer will be valid on all the pre-bookings till 30th June, 2025, after which the standard on-road price will be £9,399 (around Rs 10.63 lakh). For perspective, the F77 Mach 2 Recon costs Rs 4,26,179 on-road.
From its pricing and specifications, it is evident that the Ultraviolette slots much above commuter EV brands such as Super Soco and Horwin in the UK. With futuristic styling, lots of features, we feel the F77 is a fitting global product that developed markets like Europe can enjoy.
