Quick News Highlights

  • The bike is expected to be launched this week

  • Its pricing was leaked a few days ago

Triumph has teased the Scrambler 400XC on its social media channels in India. The bike is expected to be launched some time this week in the country. Its pricing was leaked a few days ago, and the variant was pegged at Rs 2,94,147 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). This makes it the most expensive motorcycle in Triumph’s 400cc range. In comparison, the Scrambler 400X is priced at Rs 2,67,207 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The new Triumph Scrambler 400XC gets tubeless spoke wheels as standard, making the bike a more capable offroader than the Scrambler 400. The spoke wheels will help it absorb bumps and impacts with more resilience when compared to alloys. The spoke wheels are designed to be compatible with tubeless tyres, which can handle punctures better than tubed tyres. Apart from the spoke wheels, the bike also gets a high-mounted front fender, and a windscreen as standard (both accessories on the Scrambler 400X).

The bike also gets a new lemon-yellow colour scheme that looks quite attractive, with a nice touch of black graphics across the body panels. It is also expected to get all the standard fitments of the Scrambler 400X–the tankpads, the headlight grill, knuckle guards, an aluminium bash-plate and dual-purpose tyres too.

The bike will carry over the same 398cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine from the Scrambler 400X, producing 40PS @8,000rpm and 37.5Nm @6,500rpm, paired to a six-speed gearbox assisted by a slipper clutch. Also, most of the underpinnings are expected to remain the same as the Scrambler 400X.

The new bike, most likely will get the same features and tech as the 400X, with LED-lighting, switchable ABS and traction control system. When launched, it will rival the bikes like the Royal Enfield Scram 440, the Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 and the Yezdi Scrambler.
