Triumph Scrambler 400 XC Launched at Rs 2.94 Lakh in India TechTricks365

Triumph has launched its all-new Scrambler 400 XC in India at a price of Rs 2,94,147 (ex-showroom). It’s built as a more rugged and adventure-friendly version of the Scrambler 400 X. Moreover, the bike is designed to explore off-road trails with new features and styling upgrades. It also offers better protection, more comfort, and unique styling touches. Let’s know more about this new Scrambler bike from Triumph.

What’s New in the Scrambler 400 XC

The biggest change is the new tubeless spoke wheels with the same 19-17 inch setup. This setup helps with easy puncture repairs and better off-road grip. Furthermore, the XC model comes with a high front fender, body-coloured windscreen, and painted front mudguard. This Triumph bike has a weighs 190 kg, which is 5 kg more than the X model. This extra weight comes from the added parts and protection gear.

It gets aluminium sump and engine guards as standard. Unlike the Scrambler 400 X, it only gets lower crash protection, not the upper ones. The bike also features adjustable clutch and brake levers. Apart from this, Triumph has added three fresh colours: Racing Yellow, Storm Grey, and Vanilla White.

Performance and Features Stay the Same

The Scrambler 400 XC runs on the same 398cc, single-cylinder engine as the 400 X. It makes 39.5 bhp and 37.5 Nm of torque. Moreover, the engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch. This motor is smooth and responsive, which is perfect for both city and trail use.

The motorcycle has a 150 mm travel at both ends, which is good for light to medium off-roading. It offers 195 mm of ground clearance and an 835 mm seat height. The brakes remain the same, with a 320 mm front disc and a 230 mm rear disc.

Moreover, the XC has ride-by-wire, switchable traction control, and off-road ABS. It also includes a USB charger, LED lights, and a semi-digital console.

Competition and Final Thoughts

The XC is Rs 30,000 more expensive than the Scrambler 400 X. However, it offers more features, better off-road ability, and improved design. It’s now the most expensive 400cc Triumph in India. Triumph also offers over 20 accessories and a 5-year standard warranty. You can extend it up to 10 years.

The Scrambler 400 XC competes with the Royal Enfield Scram 440, Yezdi Scrambler, and KTM 390 Adventure X. Among these, the Triumph is the only one with tubeless spoke wheels. The Scram 440 is more basic, the Yezdi is smaller and less refined, and the KTM is more expensive.
