The oldest player in the game is still the best-seller
Scooters are one of the most practical two-wheeler formats to have existed thanks to their practicality and ease of riding. Now, things have become even more diverse with more feature loaded and practical scooters arriving in the market. Let’s have a look at the top 5 best-selling scooters from March 2025 as per the latest data from SIAM (Society Of Indian Automobile Manufacturers):
Honda Activa Range

Honda sold 1,89,735 Activas (Activa 110 and Activa 125) in March 2025, a 21.67% increase in its Year-On-Year (YoY) sales from March 2024. The Month-On-Month (MoM) sales too have had a slight increase of 9.03% over February 2025.
Honda Activa has been the best-seller for a long time now, and continues to do so with its reliability, neutral design and good mileage even when the competition offers more features and practicality. Also, both the scooters in the Activa range have been updated with OBD-2B compliant engines and new features (read TFT console with smartphone connectivity) a few months ago. Honda’s timeliness in updating its products to the latest emission norms could’ve also helped in keeping the sales performance steady.

The TVS managed to secure the second spot on the list with the Jupiter range. The Jupiter range consists of two scooters: Jupiter 110 and Jupiter 125. TVS sold 1,05,835 Jupiters in March 2025, a significant 48.24% increase in YoY sales from March 2024, while the MoM sales were consistent too with a 2.18% increase when compared to February 2025.
The Jupiter 110 received a massive makeover in August 2024, with the new-gen version receiving a massive 33-litre underseat storage, more features, not to mention a futuristic design. The update seems to have worked really well as TVS has been able to rack up healthy numbers in the following months.

Suzuki sold 66,362 units of the Access 125 in March 2025, an 11.84% increase in YoY sales when compared to March 2024. Suzuki seems to be selling the Access 125 consistently and managed to have a 12.40% sales bump this month, when compared to February 2025.
In a bid to stay relevant, the newest generation of the Access 125 was launched at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025 in January 2025 with a slightly refreshed design and a new engine that is OBD-2B compliant.
Suzuki Burgman Street Range

The Burgman range (Street and EX) are one of the more popular maxi-styled scooters in India and sell decently well despite operating in a niche category. Suzuki sold 31,219 units in March 2025, a solid 58,69% increase in YoY sales when compared to March 2024. The Japanese brand has also managed to get the MoM sales jump by a massive 184.37% when compared to February 2025.
The Suzuki Burgman range is fundamentally the Access 125 itself, but in a different clothing, and was updated with an OBD-2B compliant engine in March 2025 alongside the Avenis 125. Additionally, the EX variant gets a 12-inch rear wheel for better stability.
Interestingly, the Burgman has entered this coveted list by beating the Dio’s sales (16,831 units in March 2025) – a no easy feat considering the Dio is a popular scooter that practically made sporty scooters mainstream in India.
TVS NTorq 125
Sales |
Units Sold |
March 2025 |
21,948 |
February 2025 |
20,992 |
March 2024 |

Another scooter on the list from TVS’ stable, the NTorq 125, is one of the most popular sporty scooters in India. Despite being popular, TVS sold only 21,948 units in March 2025, an 18.44% decrease in YoY sales when compared to March 2024, while the MoM sales saw a slight increase of 4.55% when compared to February 2025.
The TVS NTorq 125 has been on sale for quite some time now. However, it hasn’t seen a refresh in the recent past. Updating the scooter with new colour schemes should help it get up to speed with its competition.
