Top 5 Best-Selling EV Brands In March 2025: Hero, Honda, TVS, Ather, And Bajaj | BikeDekho TechTricks365

The Bajaj Chetak is the best-selling EV in March, beating Ola Electric, TVS and others

The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) recently released their sales data for March 2025. Here’s a list of best-selling EV brands in India:

Bajaj Auto

Bajaj Auto, with its Chetak range has been leading the EV market, with over 28,983 two-wheelers sold in March 2025, a massive 144% increase in Year-On-Year (YoY) sales when compared to March 2024. Even the Month-On-Month (MoM) sales have also jumped by an impressive 36.45% in comparison to February 2025.

Bajaj had revived the Chetak nameplate in the Indian market back in 2020 in an electric avatar and currently sells three models: 3501, 3502 and 2903. Its retro design, solid build quality, reasonable range and list of features seem to have helped in becoming the best-selling scooter of the month.

TVS Motor Company

TVS too, in terms of sales, has been doing quite well in the Indian EV market with over 26,531 units sold in the month of March 2025, a 12.5% increase in MoM sales. On the other hand, the year-on-year sales jump is quite aggressive at 85.19%.

SIAM lists both TVS and BMW Motorrad EVs in one segment as the EVs from the German brand are manufactured by TVS. While most of the sales come from iQube, other niche and premium models include the TVS X, BMW CE 02 and BMW CE 04. The iQube’s neutral design, reliable performance, range and usable features certainly seemed to have made a growing impact on sales.

It’s also important to note that both TVS and Bajaj have beaten Ola Electric in March 2025. Ola was facing issues with the registration agency in that month, and was able to register 23,430 units. Ola Electric is not part of the SIAM, so only its registration figures are available from the Vahan portal, and not the actual sales numbers.

Ather Energy

Ather Energy kick-started the premium electric scooter segment in India with its sporty electric scooters with several segment-first features and blistering performance, followed by a family e-scooter with impressive practicality.

That said, it still trails behind the two legacy brands (read Bajaj and TVS) with 16,825 scooters sold in March 2025. That’s still a 42.33% increase when compared to numbers from the previous year i.e. March 2024.

The MoM sales also show promising growth of 24.79% when compared to February 2025’s sales. Ather’s current electric line-up includes the 450S, 450X, 450 Apex and the Rizta.

Hero MotoCorp

While Hero MotoCorp dominates the petrol-powered two-wheeler segment by being the best-selling brand for decades, it seems to be lagging behind in the EV space. The Vida V2 sold 7787 units in March 2025.

However, by Hero’s own standards, this is still an impressive growth as it recorded a substantial leap of 247% in its YoY sales figures when compared to 2240 units from March 2024. The MoM sales figures also saw a decent 26.70% increase when compared to the previous month.

The Vida V2 is offered in three variants: Lite, Plus and Pro. In a bid to attract more customers, the brand also recently announced major price cuts of up to Rs 15,000 on the Vida V2 range.

Honda

Honda finally launched the Activa e: and QC1 in the Indian market a few months ago at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. Honda, with the Activa nameplate now turned electric, has sold 2102 units of its electric scooters in the month of March 2025. The deliveries began that month in Bengaluru, Mumbai and Delhi. The sales figure in its first month is pretty decent considering its limited availability.

The Activa e: comes with two 1.5kWh swappable batteries while the QC1 comes with a single fixed battery pack. The Activa e: is priced at Rs 1,17,000  whereas the QC1 costs Rs 90,000 (both ex-showroom Delhi).
