Once thought of as just a Pokemon copycat, Pocketpair’s multiplayer action-adventure, survival,
monster-taming game Palworld has broken past that and is a bonafide success.
Today, Pocketpair has announced that Palworld has now surpassed 32 million players across all platforms!
The announcement was made over on X, where the company said, “It’s been a year since Palworld was released, and thanks to you our fans, Palworld has surpassed over 32 million players across all platforms! (Steam, Xbox, PS5).”
Released on PC and Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S in January 19, 2024, the game skyrocketed to the top of the Steam charts. At one point, the game managed to have over two million concurrent players on Steam. This number is ridiculous enough on its own, but when you factor in how it’s not even counting the player base of the Xbox consoles? Yeah, that should hike it up even more.
In September last year, Pocketpair released the game on PS5, much to the delight of PlayStation gamers who waited patiently for months. In the same month it was set to be released on Sony’s console, Nintendo filed a lawsuit blocking the PS5 release, which proved to be unsuccessful.
As of today, Pocketpair and Nintendo are still locked in a lawsuit regarding the game, and Nintendo claims it infringes on the Pokemon franchise’s intellectual property.
Pocketpair released the Feybreak update in December last year, the game’s biggest content drop yet.
No word yet on when the next major content drop is scheduled to drop, though we’re guessing it’ll be soon given we’re already near the end of February.
Congrats, Pocketpair! Now let’s see some more Pals released soon.
