New Oben Electric Bike Launch in 2025, To Rival 100cc Bikes Like Hero Splendor, Honda Shine 100 And More | BikeDekho TechTricks365

Oben has announced a new e-bike platform called ‘0100’, and the first bike is planned to be launched by the end of this year

Bengaluru based electric two-wheeler manufacturer Oben Electric, has taken a significant step towards expanding its presence in the electric two-wheeler market with the announcement of its new O100 platform. Designed to compete with popular 100cc commuter motorcycles like the Hero Splendor, this indigenous platform will power Oben’s upcoming electric bikes.

About The New O100 Platform

The new O100 platform features a modular architecture which should allow easy development of multiple variants with different battery pack options and features. This should allow the brand to cater a more specific set of customers as well. Oben Electric develops and manufactures most of its components in-house , including vehicle control units, electric motors and chargers. This reduces dependency on external suppliers and also helps the brand to save a lot of money. The platform will utilize Oben’s own LFP (Lithium iron phosphate) battery technology, known for its safety, durability, and performance.

Rivals And Market Presence

With the O100 platform, Oben aims to take on established players in the 100cc commuter motorcycle segment dominated by the Hero Splendor, Hero HF Deluxe, Honda Shine 100, and Bajaj Platina 100. While these bikes are sold in tens of thousands and even several lakhs in some cases, Oben wants to cater to the affordable electric motorcycle segment that will act as a cost-effective alternative to the aforementioned 100cc bikes. That said, Oben has a lot of work cut out for it. For context,  Oben Electric sold 634 units in 2024, and till March 2025, the brand has sold 1,086 units which shows a significant growth in sales figures. However, on the other hand, Hero sold 33 lakh Splendors in 2024. This shows that the competition is not going to be easy.

Back in April, 2025, Oben Electric opened 15 new showrooms and service centers across Punjab, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Telangana which brought its total number of showrooms to 35 across India. The EV manufacturer also mentioned that it will be opening new showrooms every month, with a goal of reaching over 100 locations in 50 cities by 2026. This should help Oben Electric in improving its sales numbers and provide better after sales services.

Launch Timeline And Pricing

According to Oben, the first electric bike based on the O100 platform is expected to be launched within the second half of 2025. It is expected to be priced under Rs 1 lakh, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious buyers. Currently the Rorr EZ’s 2.6kWh variant is the most affordable Oben Electric bike in India. Priced at Rs 89,999 (ex-showroom Delhi), it offers a claimed IDC (Indian driving conditions) range of 110km and takes 45 minutes to get from 0 to 80%.

BikeDekho Says

With the new O100 platform, Oben Electric plans to take on the budding (and highly lucrative) affordable electric bike segment. Moreover, with a modular design, we can also expect one of the variants to come with a Battery As A Service (BAAS) scheme. This will help the brand price the e-bike very competitively as the customer will only have to pay for the vehicle, whereas the battery usage will be charged on a recurring basis. If Oben indeed proceeds with this business move, it will have the potential to make a big impact in the Indian e-bike segment.
