Jackery’s HomePower 3000 can get you through the storm with essential home power backup TechTricks365

Jackery HomePower 3000 is portable and powerful

Don’t get caught without an energy backup solution during hurricane season, as the Jackery HomePower 3000 solar generator can keep essential appliances powered for days.

Jackery has introduced a revamp to its Explorer series with the HomePower 3000, a 3,072Wh solar generator that can connect to two solar panels and AC input simultaneously. It’s built to be smaller and more durable than the previous model and its competitors.

With hurricane season around the corner, devastating storms will likely affect much of the United States. You’re going to need a dedicated essential home backup power solution that’s separate from the grid.

The best way to keep the lights on, fridge powered, and phones charged is with a portable power station that doubles as a solar generator. The HomePower 3000 is a versatile unit with plenty of output options including a 30A RV outlet.

There are four standard 120V 20A AC outlets, a 12V 10A cigarette lighter port, two 18W USB-A ports, and two 100W USB-C ports. Charge via two DC inputs and an AC input — when used simultaneously with maximum input, the battery charges in 1.7 hours.

Plenty of inputs and outputs to keep things running when grid power isn’t there

If you’re in a situation where you’re going to need power for a few hours, the Jackery HomePower 3000 may be enough on its own to keep everything running, depending on your connected load. If power is going to be out for a day or two, you’ll need a pair of powerful portable solar panels like Jackery’s SolarSaga 200W or 500 X.

Recharge the portable power station using solar only in about 11 hours in ideal conditions. As long as you’re not maxing out the load and there’s sunlight, you can keep the lights on and fridge running for days.

The portable nature of the HomePower 3000 helps in many situations as well. It’s much easier to carry a portable power station up and down the stairs if it is 47% smaller and 43% lighter than the competition.

The 3,072Wh capacity and 3,600W output, 7,200W surge, is enough to meet most needs. A 200W fridge can run for about two days, a 50W fan for five, or a 10W light for about ten.

Your essential electronics can keep charged too. A single full HomePower 3000 can recharge your 80W MacBook 36 times, iPhone about 300 times, or iPad about 60 times.

There’s also AC power passthrough and a 20ms UPS switch that can get power back to your essential devices as fast as possible. Connect the AC source, then plug in your devices, and as soon as power is lost, it’ll swap to the battery power.

Smaller and more portable than the competition

When you’re not using the HomePower 3000 as an essential home backup solution, it’s great for your RV or just saving money on the electric bill. Carry out your portable power station to recharge devices or power your work shed to save on grid power usage — especially if you’re recharging with solar.

And even if the HomePower 3000 is being stored for a rainy day, it has a ZeroDrain feature that keeps 95% of its charge even after a full year on standby.
