Hitachi and Daikin test AI chatbot for diagnosing factory equipment failures TechTricks365

Hitachi and Daikin have launched a trial of a new AI-powered chatbot designed to help diagnose equipment failures on factory floors.

The digital agent, developed through a co-creation partnership, acts as a conversational interface between factory operators and complex machinery data.

The system draws on Hitachi’s Lumada data analytics platform and Daikin’s manufacturing expertise to assist workers in identifying failure causes and suggesting remedies.

It aims to reduce downtime and improve maintenance efficiency by offering real-time, AI-assisted support via natural language chat.

The trial will assess how effectively the chatbot integrates into existing factory operations and supports technicians with limited access to expert knowledge.

This initiative marks another step in the growing trend of applying conversational AI to industrial environments, following similar efforts by automation firms to humanize machine diagnostics and make factories smarter.
