With the many updates, the Hero Glamour has a lot more to offer. But is it enough to take on the Honda Shine?
The Hero Glamour 125 and the Honda Shine 125 stand out as two potent commuter motorcycles in the highly competitive 125cc segment. Both offer a simple no-nonsense commuter package which can easily meet your riding needs. We try to answer which one makes more sense in 2025 through this detailed image comparison.
Design
Both feature a simple and practical commuter design with a few premium bits thrown in here and there. The Honda Shine gets a nice looking metallic highlight on the headlight cowl. Along with this, the manufacturer has also given it a premium looking Honda badging on the tank.
The Hero Glamour, on the other hand, features slightly more sporty colours, which gives the scooter a more youthful vibe. The bike also gets metallic badging on the headlight section, but overall it doesn’t have the same effect as the tank badge of the Shine.
Engine & Performance
Powering the Hero Glamour is a 124.7cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine which outputs 10.5PS and 10.4Nm. The Honda Shine on the other hand features a 123.94cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine which outputs 10.7PS and 11Nm.
So overall in terms of outright performance, the Honda Shine 125 has a slight advantage over the Hero Glamour 125.
Underpinnings
Both the Hero Glamour 125 and the Honda Shine 125 are built on a single-cradle frame. Both feature a telescopic fork and twin-rear shock absorber suspension setup. When it comes to wheels, both feature a similar 17-inch alloy wheel setup with a 80-section front and 100-section rear tyre setup.
Braking hardware on both the bikes are also similar, with a 240mm disc at the front and a 130mm drum at the rear. So overall both bikes are evenly matched when it comes to underpinnings.
Features
The Honda Shine 125 is a bit plain when it comes to features. It gets a simple dual-pod analogue instrument console, with a speedometer and a fuel gauge. The Hero Glamour on the other hand has a more modern LCD console, which gives essential readouts like speed, time, fuel level along with trip and odometer readouts.
The Glamour also gets a few additional modern bits like an LED headlight, which should offer better road illumination at night. Other than this, the bike also gets a hazard light switch as well. Overall, features wise, the Glamour has a bit more to offer.
Verdict
Both the Hero Glamour and the Honda Shine are really good options in the 125cc commuter segment. Coming to the pricing, the Shine starts from Rs 83,251, whereas the Hero Glamour 125 starts at a price of Rs 84,698 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Which bike you should choose depends on what you are looking for. If you want a simple, no-nonsense commuter with a proven track record of reliability, then you can go for the Honda Shine 125.
The Hero Glamour 125, on the other hand, has a lot more features on offer, and the stylish graphics is something the youth will really like. So if you’re a younger rider who wants a more stylish-looking commuter, then you can consider the Hero Glamour 125.
