Dead by Daylight has just exploded on Steam, and is now more popular than ever in its history TechTricks365

Dead by Daylight has hosted crossovers with just about every fictional universe possible, horror or otherwise. Over the years, we’ve seen survivors and killers based on movie series like Halloween, Evil Dead, Nightmare on Elm Street, and Child’s Play, as well as games such as Castlevania, Resident Evil, and Silent Hill. Naturally, then, DBD would have to get around to featuring one of the most popular horror game series to emerge in the last few decades. And now, with the launch of its Five Nights at Freddy’s DLC, that crossover has finally been realized, with DBD exploding on Steam as a result.

The DBD FNAF chapter has just come to the horror game, bringing a wave of new and returning players with it. The much anticipated DLC adds in the moldering animatronic Springtrap as a killer, a themed banner and badge, and Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza as a new map for all Dead by Daylight players.

As a result of the DLC’s launch, the game’s player count has surged to new heights. At the time of writing, 99,304 players are online, but, earlier today, that number stood at a massive 106,029. This beats out Dead by Daylight’s previous all-time high player peak, which stood at 105,093 players all the way back in 2021.

Dead by Daylight: Five Nights at Freddy’s is out now. The base game is also available with a 60% discount on Steam, bringing its price down to $7.99 USD / £5.99 from now until Thursday June 26. Grab the base game here or the Five Nights at Freddy’s DLC right here.
