DC Vs LSG, IPL 2025: Delhi Capitals’ batter Ashutosh Sharma on Monday created a magic, as he drove Delhi Capitals beat Lucknow Super Giants by 1 wicket at Vishakhapatnam in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2025.
Sent as an impact player to chase the match, Ashutosh Sharma scored a magical unbeaten and incredible 66 runs off just 31 deliveries at a strike rate of 212.90. His innings included five boundaries and five sixes. He was given the ‘player of the match’ for his innings.
Speaking at the post presentations of the match, Ashutosh Sharma said, as quoted by Cricbuzz, “Took the lessons from last year. Missed out on finishing the game on a couple of occasions in the previous season. The whole year I focused and visualised about it. Had the belief that if I play till the last over, anything can happen. Well played to Vipraj. I asked him to keep hitting. He was very calm under pressure. Want to dedicate this award to my mentor Shikhar paaji.”
Ashutosh Sharma was supported by debutant Vipraj Nigam who scored 39 off 15 deliveries at a striking rate of 260. In his innings, Nigam smashed five boundaries and two sixes.
For LSG, Shardul Thakur, Manimaran Siddharth, Digvesh Rathi and Ravi Bishnoi picked two wickets each.
Looking at stats, 210 runs is the highest target successfully chased by Delhi Capitals in IPL, and this is also the first time a 200-plus target chased against LSG.

After winning the toss, Delhi Capitals opted to bowl first and invited Lucknow Super Giants to bat first.
LSG, while batting first, Mitchell Marsh score 72 runs off 36 deliveries, including six boundaries and six sixes, at a strike rate of 200. He was supported by Pooran, who scored 75 runs off 30 deliveries.
For DC, Kuldeep Yadav took two wickets, while Vipraj Nigam, Mukesh Kumar and Mitchell Starc picked one wicket each.
LSG have scored 209 off 8 wickets in 20 overs and gave DC 209 target to chase.
