Ampere, the electric two-wheeler brand based out of Bengaluru , has launched the Reo 80, an electric scooter priced at Rs 59,900. Deliveries of the scooter begin this month across India.
Design
The Ampere Reo 80 looks exactly like the other Reo models on sale currently. It is overall very compact in size and is available in four dual-tone colour options: black, red, blue, and white.
Battery And Motor
The Reo 80 gets a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery. This battery pack offers a claimed range of up to 80km. If the e-scooter manages to achieve close to this number in the real-world, then it will be ideal for short commutes in the city. It has a hub-mounted motor, capable of achieving a maximum top speed of 25kmph. As a low-speed electric vehicle, it does not require a license or registration, so it can be used by anyone under the age of 18. That said, we urge you to always wear a helmet and follow the road rules while riding.
Underpinnings And Features
The Ampere Reo gets 10-inch alloy wheels on both ends, with a front disc and a rear drum brake. Suspension wise, it gets a telescopic fork and twin rear shock absorbers. The battery is most likely located under the seat by the looks of it. Features wise, it comes equipped with a colour LCD console, LED lighting all around, and keyless start system with a keyfob.
BikeDekho Says
While the low cost of the scooter makes it enticing, there is nothing really different or unique about this particular EV, including its design. That said, if you are looking for a fuss-free electric scooter for your school commutes or grocery runs, the Reo 80 seems like a decent option.
