2025 Yamaha MT 15 launched in Malaysia
-
Gets one new colour option
-
Remains mechanically unchanged
Yamaha has officially launched the 2025 MT 15 in Malaysia, introducing a fresh new colour option while keeping the price the same as the previous model at RM 12,498 (Rs 2,43,188).
Updates
The only update for the 2025 MT 15 comes in the form of cosmetics – the addition of the Ice Storm colourway. It gets Ice Blue highlights on the fuel tank and subframe, while the wheels come painted in this colour. This paint shade joins the existing Midnight Black colour scheme currently available in Malaysia.
Indian Vs Malaysian-Spec Differences
It continues to be powered by the same 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) – shared with the R15 V4 and Aerox. It produces 19.3PS at 10,000 rpm and 14.7Nm at 8,500 rpm in the Malaysian-spec bike – the Indian version makes 0.9PS and 0.6Nm less. It gets a deltabox frame suspended by a gold colour 37mm inverted fork and a preload adjustable linked monoshock. Braking is handled by a 282mm front and 240mm rear disc brake (Indian bike gets a 220mm). The 17-inch wheels are wrapped in a 110-section (100 in India) tyre at the front and a 140 at the rear. The seat height is 810mm, ground clearance is 155mm (170mm for India), kerb weight is 133kg (141kg here), and the fuel tank capacity is 10-litres.
Features
The bike comes equipped with all LED lights, and a negatively-lit fully digital console with gear position indicator and shift light, real time mileage, and Bluetooth connectivity with call, SMS, email alerts. Notably, it misses out on turn-by-turn navigation on both the Indian and Malaysian versions. Dual-channel ABS, traction control, a hazard light switch and side stand engine cut-off are part of standard safety features. Although in India, the Metallic Black and Dark Matte Blue colour options do not get LED indicators and the hazard light switch.
BikeDekho Says
The 2025 Yamaha MT 15 is largely similar to the 2024 model, with no mechanical or feature updates whatsoever. Even with the new colour, the Malaysian-spec bike has very few colour options as compared to the Indian bike which is available in eight shades.
