Yamaha has launched the MT-03 and MT-25 in the Japanese market. The MT-03 is priced at 6,25,000 Yen (approximately Rs 3.59 lakh) while the MT-25 is priced at Rs 5,75,000 (approximately Rs 3.31 lakh). The updated motorcycles now get a slip-and-assist clutch for more safety, an LCD instrument console with smartphone connectivity and slight design changes along with new colour schemes. Let’s have a look at what these Japanese streetfighters offer:

Yamaha MT-03:

The new Yamaha MT-03 now gets a sleeker look, thanks to the slightly redesigned body panels with aggressive graphic elements and sharp DRLs for a sporty look. The MT-03 now gets three new colour schemes: Matte Light Gray Metallic, Deep Purpulish Blue Metallic, and Matt Dark Gray Metallic

The bike is powered by a 320cc, liquid-cooled, inline-twin cylinder engine producing 42PS and 30Nm and is paired to a 6-speed gearbox assisted by a slip-and-assist clutch. The MT-03 is known for its reliability and linear power delivery but lacked convenience features that have been added with this update. The bike now gets a digital LCD instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity through the Yamaha Y-connect app along with a USB Type-A charging socket.

Yamaha MT-25:

The new MT-25 too, gets similar styling elements front the MT-03 with redesigned seat, body panels and sleeker DRLs while being offered in the same three colour schemes as the MT-03. The MT-25 is powered by a 249cc, liquid-cooled, inline-twin cylinder engine producing 35PS and 23Nm and is paired to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch. The MT-25 gets a similar silhouette as that of the MT-03 and shares most of the underpinnings and features.

Both the bikes get 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 110-section front and 140-section rear tubeless tyres. The bikes get a 37mm inverted fork and a KYB monoshock for sharp handling characteristics. Both bikes get a 298mm front disc and 220mm rear disc brake with dual-channel ABS as standard. Both the bikes get a seat height of 780mm, ground clearance of 160mm, weigh 166kg (kerb) and come equipped with a 14 litre fuel tank.
