Yamaha recently launched the FZ-S Fi Hybrid, the first hybrid bike in the 150cc segment, in March 2025. The FZ line-up now consists of six different variants, and here’s an explainer for each:
Yamaha FZ-Fi
The Yamaha FZ-Fi is the most bare-bones motorcycle in the line-up. It’s also the most affordable with a price tag of just Rs 1,17,940 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The bike is offered in two colour schemes: Matte Cyan, and Metallic Black. It has basic features like a negatively-lit LCD, an LED headlight only. The bike shares its underpinnings with other bikes in the lineup, and weighs just 135kg kerb.
Yamaha FZ-S Fi
The FZ-S, a sportier and premium version of the FZ-Fi, is priced at Rs 1,34,800 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The bike is offered in two colour schemes: Metallic Grey and Matte Black, and is equipped with a LCD instrument cluster, tank integrated indicators, LED head lights, Yamaha Y-Connect for smartphone connectivity and also a traction control system.
Yamaha FZ-S Fi Ver. 3.0
The FZ-S Fi Ver. 3.0, an older iteration,, is still on sale alongside the latest generation, at Rs 1,22,900 (ex-showroom). The bike is available in three colour schemes: Matte Grey, Matte Red and Dark Knight (costs Rs 1,000 more).The bike shares majority of its equipment and underpinnings with the FZ-Fi, but differs itself with design changes and chrome elements on its body panels.
Yamaha FZ-S Fi Ver. 4.0
The FZ-S Fi Ver. 4.0 is the latest iteration of the FZ-S, with modern equipment, safety features and an updated design. The bike is priced at Rs 1,30,700 (ex-showroom) and is offered in two colour schemes: Matte Black and Dark Matte Blue. The bike gets an all-LED lighting setup, a digital LCD instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity through Yamaha Y-Connect, traction control system, and single-channel ABS.
Yamaha FZ-S Fi DLX
The FZ-S Fi DLX, is fundamentally the same bike as the Ver. 4.0, but gets an updated design and more colour schemes and is slightly more expensive. It is priced at Rs 1,31,200 (ex-showroom). It is offered in six different colour schemes: Ice Fluo-Vermillion, Cyber Green, Racing Blue, Metallic Grey, Majesty Red, and Matte Black.
Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid
The FZ-S Fi Hybrid, the latest addition to the FZ lineup, is priced at Rs 1,44,800 (ex-showroom). The bike is available in two colour schemes: Cyan Metallic Grey and Racing Blue. The FZ-S Fi Hybrid, the first hybrid bike in the 150cc segment, is equipped with a Smart-Motor Generator (SMG) that gives the engine a slight boost, while making the bike smooth and refined at the lower end of the rev-range. The bike gets a TFT display with smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, all-LED lighting setup, and single-channel ABS.
What’s Common?
All the variants of the FZ and FZ-S are powered by the same 149cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine producing 12.4PS and 13.3Nm, paired to a 5-speed gearbox (the hybrid which also has the SMG). All the variants have 17-inch wheels, with a tubeless 100-section front tyre and a 140-section rear. The FZs get a telescopic fork and a 7-step preload adjustable monoshock. All of them have disc brakes – 282mm front, 220mm rear – with single-channel ABS.
