One has a good blend of track and touring while the other is hardcore track bike, but there’s more to these bikes
2025 TVS Apache RR was recently launched in India with an OBD-2B compliant engine and some new features. In the Indian market, it directly competes with the KTM RC 390. Lets compare the specs of these two fully faired sports bikes.

In this comparison, the KTM RC 390 clearly gets a much bigger engine which has more performance. It also makes its peak power and torque earlier in the rev-range as compared to the RR 310. This would make the RC slightly better to ride in the city, and also be quicker off the line.
That said, , the TVS Apache RR 310 has a much linear power delivery which makes it easy to ride in the city as well as the highway. Where the RC feels manic, the RR feels calm.

Both of these motorcycles get a split trellis frame which helps them handle well. The RC 390 misses out on fully-adjustable front suspension while the RR gets it as an optional BTO (built-to-order) kit.. The RR 310 gets a slightly smaller front disc as compared to the RC 390, however, both have really good stopping power and come equipped with high performance sintered brake pads. These sports bikes also get high performance tyres, the RR 310 gets the Michelin Road 5s while the RC 390 comes equipped with the Metzeler Sportec M5 tyres – both of these have good grip and make the bikes fun to corner

The TVS RR 310 has an impressive 180mm of ground clearance, which is 27mm more than the RC 390. The RC 390 gets a much bigger fuel tank than the RR 310 which should result in slightly better range. The seat height on the RR 310 is much more accessible and is 25mm lower than that on the KTM RC 390. This makes the TVS easier to ride for shorter riders.

Both of these motorcycles get 5-inch TFT displays, but the one on the TVS Apache RR 310 is vertically mounted. Also, the 2025 RR 310 can show multiple display languages. These TFT consoles support smartphone connectivity along with turn-by-turn navigation and SMS/call alerts. In this comparison the RR 310 is a much more feature loaded motorcycle as it gets a launch control, wheelie control, cornering ABS, cornering traction control, rear lift off control, and 4 ride modes: Track, Sport, Urban and Rain. However, the bidirectional quickshifter, fully adjustable KYB suspension, Brass coated chain and tyre pressure monitoring system are optional accessories for the RR 310.
The KTM RC 390 misses out on ride modes but gets cornering ABS, switchable traction control and a bidirectional quickshifter as standard.

The base, non quickshifter variant of the RR 310 is Rs 44,720 more affordable than the RC 390. However, the top-spec BTOvariant of the RR 310 is similarly priced to the KTM RC 390 and offers a lot more features in comparison.
Both of these sports bikes are purpose-built by their manufacturers to be the fastest within the category. The RR 310 offers a number of features and rider aids which makes it a better motorcycle for beginners. Even in terms of performance, it doesn’t disappoint as the 312.2cc motor packs up punch and feels really engaging to ride.
That said, the RC 390 is not as forgiving as the RR 310 and requires a lot more skills to ride fast. The RC 390 also lacks the some features which the RR 310 offers. In the end, the decision is going to be all yours. If you want a motorcycle which only focuses on performance, then the RC 390 should be your choice. And for someone who wants performance but with a lot more modern features and rider aids, then the RR 310 is going to be the one to consider.
