You’ve got just one day until two Warhammer 40k strategy games are removed from Steam TechTricks365

Two Warhammer 40k strategy games are about to be delisted on Steam, meaning you’ve got just 24 hours left to claim them on the Valve platform before they’re gone for good. Publisher Slitherine is taking Warhammer 40k Armageddon and Warhammer 40k Sanctus Reach off sale on Steam on Monday May 19. The good news is that if you want to pick them up before that point, you can snag the former at a massive 90% discount.

Warhammer 40k Armageddon follows the Imperial forces of the Armageddon Steel Legion and a range of Space Marines from across several Chapters in a fight against the Orks attempting to invade the eponymous world. The turn-based strategy game employs hex grids that give it a more distinctive feel akin to the likes of combat in Civilization. Back in 2014, Fraser praised its “focus and simplicity” in our Warhammer 40k Armageddon review, noting that, while it doesn’t offer as much big-picture strategizing as some of its peers, it makes for an excellent entry point into the genre for the Warhammer curious.

Warhammer 40k Sanctus Reach, meanwhile, allows you to take either side in a fight for the titular system. It offers two separate story campaigns, giving you the ability to play as the Space Wolves or Ork Goffs, including 30 units on each side along with notable heroes such as Krom Dragongaze, Logan Grimnar, and Grukk FaceRippa. There’s also the ability to play skirmish modes and multiplayer.

Unfortunately, Slitherine confirms that both Armageddon and Sanctus Reach are being removed from sale on Steam from Monday May 19, along with all DLC. Note that if you already own either game, you’ll still be able to play them after this date. While it isn’t mentioned directly, it’s likely this will removal also include Armageddon spin-off Da Orks; both it and the original game are also offering a 90% saving in a Steam sale.

Slitherine also notes that “this is not the end of the battle,” as the games will remain available for purchase via GOG, where you can currently get Sanctus Reach at an 80% discount, while Armageddon and Da Orks are available for 70% off.

Statement from Slitherine: "Greetings, Commanders, We want to inform you that the Warhammer 40,000: Sanctus Reach franchise will soon be removed from Steam. Starting May 19th, the game and its DLCs will no longer be available for purchase on this platform. However, this is not the end of the battle! Sanctus Reach will remain available on GOG.com, where you can continue to purchase and enjoy the full franchise DRM-free. If you've already purchased the game on Steam, don't worry — it will remain in your library, and you'll still be able to download and play it as usual. Thank you for your continued support"

Warhammer 40k Armageddon is 90% off on Steam until Monday May 19 at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm BST / 7pm CEST, when it will be delisted from sale. Warhammer 40k Sanctus Reach will also be taken off the Steam store at the same time. Head here if you want to grab a copy while you still can.
