Could be based on the Concept X
Ultraviolette Automotive could be gearing up to launch a new electric motorcycle, as they have recently filed a design patent and given us a glimpse into what is coming. The Bengaluru based startup, known mainly for its F77 electric sportbike, appears to be working on a new motorcycle based on the Concept X, which was first showcased at EICMA 2024.
Design
The patent images confirm that the new Ultraviolette motorcycle will retain the brand’s sharp, futuristic design language, with aggressive creases and a muscular stance. One of the most noticeable changes from the F77 is the lack of a fairing, and the single-piece handlebar instead of the low-set clip-ons. The new motorcycle has an upright and relaxed riding posture. The bike also features knuckle guards, a single-piece seat, and split rear passenger grab handles. Another interesting detail is the small beak-like extension in front of the headlight, which is often seen on adventure bikes. If these hints turn out to be accurate, this Concept X based bike could be India’s first electric adventure motorcycle.
Underpinnings
The new electric bike is expected to share several elements with the F77 Mach 2. The battery placement appears to be in the same spot as the F77, positioned where a traditional engine would be, ensuring a low center of gravity and stable handling. In terms of suspension, the bike will come equipped with an inverted fork and a monoshock. It will roll on 17-inch wheels and braking will be handled by discs at both ends. The bike could likely get a touchscreen TFT display with Bluetooth smartphone connectivity and navigation.
Battery And Range
While official specifications regarding battery capacity and range have not yet been disclosed, it is expected that it will retain the same battery pack options as the F77, offering a claimed range of around 323km on a single full charge.
Launch Details
Ultraviolette is expected to launch this new bike by the end of 2025 and it is expected to be priced slightly lesser than the F77 Mach 2, which is currently priced between Rs 2.99 lakh and 3.99 lakh. This will mark the company’s expansion beyond the F77. More details are expected to emerge in the coming months as the bike moves closer to production, and it will be exciting to see how the company positions this offering in the Indian electric two-wheeler market.
Ultraviolette UVLYNC Charger
In other news, Ultraviolette also recently launched the UVLYNC, a Type 2 Charging Interface that makes the F77 and all other electric two-wheelers (E2Ws) compatible with 4000+ AC car charging stations and over 100,000 AC Type 2 car chargers across India. This compatibility enables long distance riding and enhances accessibility to the expanding charging infrastructure. By introducing a universal charging solution, Ultraviolette addresses a key industry need, making EV adoption more practical. Competitively priced at Rs 2,999, UVLYNC is available for F77 owners and all E2W users.
