For all of Ubisoft’s stumblings on non-Assassin’s Creed projects, it’s easy to forget about the success of The Crew Motorfest. Launched in September 2023 and understandably overshadowed by bigger releases at the time, it nevertheless set first-week sales records for the franchise.
Though it’s still receiving post-launch support, Ubisoft has reportedly greenlit a new title in the series, according to Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson. It’s also allegedly a brand-new title rather than a follow-up to Motorfest, which is interesting since the latter was rumored to have started development as DLC for The Crew 2.
Whether it’s greenlighting is a recent development or not, it will likely be some time before The Crew 4’s announcement, so stay tuned. The Crew Motorfest is out now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC. Check out our review of the launch version here.
Developer Ivory Tower is also working to add an offline mode to The Crew 2 after legal controversies arising from the delisting of the original game.
