TVS Sport Variants Explained: ES And ES+ | BikeDekho TechTricks365

The recently launched ES+ variant replaces the ELS variant

TVS had launched a new variant of the TVS Sport – ES Plus, a month ago. It got new colour schemes, updated graphics and a USB charging port. The new variant was priced at Rs 60,881 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and sat just below the then top-end ‘ELS’ variant in the lineup. However, now the ELS variant has been discontinued as per the official website. Here’s a detailed overview of what the currently existing variants (ES and ES Plus) of the TVS Sport offer:

TVS Sport ES

The ‘ES’ (referred to as Electric Start) is the base variant of the TVS Sport and is priced at Rs 59,881 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The TVS Sport ES is offered in four colour schemes: Starlight Blue, All Red, All Black and All Grey.

All these colour schemes come with no graphics on the bike and just the branding on the tail panels. The ES variant also gets blacked out alloy wheels that add to its road presence and highlight its colour schemes. The grab rail is finished in brushed silver along with a chrome exhaust cover. All in all, even though it doesn’t have graphics, the colour scheme looks pretty elegant in the ES variant.

TVS Sport ES Plus

The ‘ES Plus’ variant is the newest addition to the TVS Sport’s variant line-up. It is priced at Rs 60,881 (ex-showroom, Delhi), Rs 1,000 more expensive than the ‘ES’ and comes with two colour schemes: Black Neon and Grey Red. They look quite funky, and will appeal to younger buyers.

The bike gets graphics on the tank, front fender, headlight cowl, side body panels. While the ES Plus variant gets blacked out alloy wheels too, it also comes with neon decals on the rims for a more stylish look. The bike also gets a USB-charging port on the instrument console for added convenience. Apart from this, it gets a blacked out exhaust cover and grab rail.

What’s common on both TVS Sport variants?

The two variants of the TVS Sport use a 109.7cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine producing 8.19PS and 8.70Nm and come paired to a 4-speed gearbox. The bike gets a very manageable kerb weight of 112kg, and a claimed top speed of 90kmph that gives it just about enough highway capability.

The TVS Sport comes with a telescopic fork and 5-step preload-adjustable twin rear shock absorbers. For the braking setup, it gets drum brakes at both ends but a front disc brake would have been a nice addition, especially in the ES+ variant. The two variants are  equipped with an analogue instrument console with speedometer, fuel gauge, odometer readings and Econometer which shows whether the rider is riding aggressively or frugally. It also has LED DRLs with a halogen headlamp. Apart from these, it also gets a combined braking system (CBS).

BikeDekho Says:

The TVS Sport is not only the cheapest bike from TVS, but is also one of the cheapest motorcycles in India. Discontinuing the ELS variant is a good decision in our opinion as it was Rs 10,904 more than the just-launched ES+ variant. Despite having a much higher price tag, the variant did not get any features over either the base or the ES+ variant except for the different graphics.

If you’re looking for a no-nonsense 110cc bike, then the base variant will suffice. Spending Rs 1,000 makes sense for those who want a little more flash in their 110cc commuter. That said, we’d have appreciated it if TVS charged a few thousand rupees extra and given the ES+ variant a front disc. That would’ve made the bike a lot safer than the drum variant.
