Top 3 Best Selling Indian Two-Wheeler Brands In India: Honda, TVS and Hero MotoCorp | BikeDekho TechTricks365

Hero MotoCorp has been dethroned!

Quick News Highlights

  • The sales figures for April 2025 have been released by major Indian manufacturers

  • Honda has secured the first spot by overtaking Hero MotoCorp

  • Hero still registered approximately 5 lakh two-wheelers this month

The monthly sales figures of all the major Indian two-wheelers manufacturers are out. And the rankings have changed drastically. We have compiled a list of the top 3 best selling Indian brands from the month of April 2025:

Hero MotoCorp:

Hero MotoCorp was overtaken by both TVS and Honda in terms of sales in the month of April 2025. Hero sold 3,05,406 units in April 2025 – a massive decrease of 29.09% in its Month-On-Month sales figures when compared to March 2025. The Year-On-Year sales figures too have declined by a massive 42.76%, when compared to sales figures from the month of April 2024. But there’s a very good reason why Hero has seen a dip.

This is most-likely a  result of the production halt from April 17 to 19  at its factories of Dharuhera, Gurugram, Haridwar, and Neemrana. Hero MotoCorp states that this halt in production was done to align the supply chain and conduct scheduled maintenance at its facilities.

That said, once all of Hero’s production lines are streamlined again, their numbers should rise. Another fact is that Hero still registered 5.05 lakh two-wheelers on VAHAN portal, indicating that its popularity still hasn’t faded.

TVS Motor Company

The Hosur-based Indian two-wheeler manufacturer has managed to gain the second spot on the list with 4,30,330 units sold in April 2025. That’s a 7.55% increase in its MoM sales figures when compared to sales from March 2025. The YoY sales figures too have had a massive push of 16% when compared to April 2024’s 3,74,592 units.

TVS has started the new financial year with a very healthy growth. TVS also has a few two-wheelers in the pipeline, which could be launched in the rest of the year. They are also expected to launch Norton Motorcycles in India by March 2026. Additionally, TVS also updated the Jupiter 110 with an OBD-2B compliant engine, making the scooter more eco-friendly.

Honda Motorcycles and Scooter India (HMSI)

Honda has managed to secure the first spot on the list with 4,80,896 units sold in April 2025, pushing the MoM sales up by 12.50% when compared to sales figures from March 2025 where Honda sold 4,27,448 units.

All these massive sales for Honda mostly come from their bread-and-butter models – the Honda Activa and the Shine 125. The CB350 range has been recently updated with new colours and an OBD2-compliant engine. Same has been the case with the Dio 125.

(Note that all these numbers are Domestic and Exports combined)
