From an Austrian ADV to a Japanese Supersport
Royal Enfield recently launched the Classic 650 in India at Rs 3,37,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is priced quite competitively. Here’s a list of alternatives you can buy for a similar price of Classic 650:
1. Yamaha R3
For the similar price of Classic 650, you can get a super-sport if you prefer outright performance and handling. The Japanese sportbike recently got a permanent price cut, and is now priced at Rs 3,59,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). It is offered in two colour schemes: Icon Blue and Yamaha Black. The bike is powered by a 321cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine producing 42PS and 29.5Nm, paired to a 6-speed gearbox.
2. KTM 390 Adventure
If you want an ADV at a similar price, the KTM 390 Adventure is a good choice. The bike is being praised for its offroad capabilities and technology along with its value-for-money quotient. The KTM 390 Adventure is powered by the same 399cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine from the 390, producing 46PS and 39Nm, paired to a 6-speed gearbox and comes equipped with features unseen in its segment.
3. Royal Enfield Continental GT 650
The Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 is the most affordable cafe racer available for sale in the Indian market. The bike is priced from Rs 3,19,000 Rs 3,45,000 (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi). It gets the same engine as the Classic 650, but it feels quite different because of the sprocketing. The bike also has sporty ergonomics, and is definitely one of the best-looking Royal Enfield bikes currently.
4. Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 ‘Cosmic Black’
For a change, you could also consider Ultaviolette’s F77 Mach 2 with the ‘Cosmic Black’ colour scheme. This F77 Mach 2 variant will set you back by Rs 3,24,229 (Ex-showroom, Bengaluru). The F77 Mach 2 is driven by an electric motor that makes 27kW and 90Nm. The bike gets a 7.1kWh capacity battery pack, with a claimed range of 211km and a top speed of 155kmph.
5. BSA Gold Star 650 ‘Legacy Edition’
The BSA Gold Star 650 is a retro-roadster that competes directly with the Classic 650. Its ‘Legacy Edition’ is priced at Rs 3,34,990 (ex-showroom, Delhi), similar price to that of the Classic 650. The BSA Gold Star 650 is powered by a 650cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine producing 45.6PS and 55Nm, paired to a 6-speed and comes equipped with a slip-and-assist clutch.
