With Stellar Blade’s debut on PC slated for next month, gamers should be happy that another PS5-exclusive will be playable on another platform. However, some of that enthusiasm has dampened somewhat with the news that the game will be region-locked.
Not only will the game be region-locked, but it will even feature Denuvo for anti-piracy measures, which is something most people won’t be happy with given the tool’s penchant for being a resource hog.
Over on Twitter/X, developer Shift Up has acknowledged the concerns about Denuvo and region-locking.
We are closely discussing the region lock issue with the publisher and are doing our BEST to resolve most of it as soon as possible.
As shown in the test chart below, the DRM has been hard tuned to maintain the same average frame rate, with even higher minimum frames in some cases. Mods are fully supported without any restrictions

Both the PC and PS5 versions offer the same content. We will make sure that early buyers are never at a disadvantage through future updates.
Shift Up has also said that performance of Stellar Blade on PC with Denuvo on is better, which is honestly the first time I’ve ever seen this claim made. The table below from Shift Up lists Stellar Blade’s performance with and without “protection.”
I am assuming that players will dissect this info whether it’s the real deal once the game is out, and I’m curious if it is given Denuvo is notorious to affect game performance negatively.
Stellar Blade hits PC on June 11, and the PC requirements and more info have been revealed.
It won’t be a straight port as well, with the PC version confirmed to feature a new boss, new outfits and of course, PC graphical enhancements. PS5 players won’t be left out of the party either, as the new content will be released as a free title update for game owners.
