‘Sniper Elite 5’ hits iPhone, iPad, and Mac in 2026
In a campaign set amid the crumbling Atlantic Wall of Nazi-occupied France, ‘Sniper Elite 5’ is set to creep onto on iPhone, iPad, and Mac in early 2026.
Soon players will be able to return to World War II, this time to France in 1944. Players will reprise their role as elite marksman Karl Fairburne, tasked with helping the French Resistance to weaken the Atlantikwall fortifications along the coast of Brittany.
Sniper Elite 5 is a third-person tactical shooter stealth game. It boasts immersive maps peppered with real-world locations and an improved traversal system that encourages even more exploration.
It also features the much-lauded “X-ray Kill Camera,” which shows an internal view of enemies as they are hit by bullets.
Initially launched in 2022 for Windows, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, it received generally favorable reviews. As always, critics praised the sniping experience.
While system requirements aren’t known at the time, it’s probable they’ll be similar to those required for Sniper Elite 4, which came out for Mac, iPad, and iPhone in January.
That means that to play on Mac, you’ll likely need a machine with an M1 chip or later and be running macOS Ventura or newer. It will also likely be an exclusive title to the App Store, meaning it won’t be available over Steam for Mac gamers.
To play on iPad, you’ll probably need to run iPadOS 17 or later and a device with an M-series or A17 Pro chip.
iPhone users will probably need to be running iOS 17 or later on a device with the A17 Pro chip or newer. Currently, that includes the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 16, and iPhone 16 Pro lineup — though the iPhone 17 will certainly be compatible too.
