Free League has released the latest prewritten adventure for Ruins of Symbaroum. The new module, Ruins of Symbaroum: The Throne of Thorns II, marks the midpoint of the titular Throne of Thorns storyline.

According to an official press release, Ruins of Symbaroum: The Throne of Thorns II is a 230+page hardcover book. It contains two massive prewritten adventures, The Darkest Star and Mother of Darkness, adapted for the Dungeons & Dragons 5e-compatible Ruins of Symbaroum TTRPG. These adventures mark the mid-point of the six-part Throne of Thorns campaign.

In Ruins of Symbaroum: The Throne of Thorns II, the capital city of Yndaros is descending into chaos amid royal wedding preparations. Conspiracies threaten to plenge the Davokar region into war. And the most ambitious and perilous wilderness expedition in Ambrian history is about to begin.

These prewritten adventures are designed for PCs at level 10 and will take them up to level 14.The adventures contain 20 full-color maps, over 60 unique statblocks including monsters, potential ally (or enemy) NPCs, and other famous individuals. Lastly, the book contains a rich colelction of handouts, offering information, social challenges, and complex problems.

If you plan on running Ruins of Symbaroum: The Throne of Thorns II, you will need the Ruins of Symbaroum Player’s Guide, Game Master’s Guide, and Bestiary.

Ruins of Symbaroum stands out from other dark fantasy settings adapted into D&D 5e for its focus on social conflicts, alternate rules for resting, and a unique corruption mechanic. In the same vein as Grim Hollow or Dungeons of Drakkenheim, the book contains new player classes, backgrounds, mystical artifacts and elixirs to match this tone.

Ruins of Symbaroum: The Throne of Thorns II is available for pre-order now at an MSRP of $42 not including shipping. It is set to release in June 2025.
