RoboCop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business Release Date Set for July | TechRaptor TechTricks365

Publisher Nacon and developer Teyon have revealed the RoboCop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business release date, with the “standalone adventure” launching in just a couple of short months.

Announced back in March, Unfinished Business launches on July 17th. It picks up after the events of the original RoboCop: Rogue City, and it sees the titular hero entering the sinisterly-named OmniTower in order to take down a group of mercenaries who have taken over the building.

Each floor of OmniTower is “a dangerous maze of enemies, traps, and bullets” for RoboCop to contend with. If you can imagine RoboCop as filtered through the lens of movies like Die Hard and The Raid (not to mention Dredd), then you’re not a million miles off.

RoboCop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business launches in July.

RoboCop’s main rival in Unfinished Business is a former colleague of his, or at least of Alex Murphy, the human he used to be before being transformed into RoboCop.

Murphy and this new antagonist share a goal of protecting Old Detroit, but “their motives differ”, according to Teyon and Nacon. Well, one would hope so, otherwise there wouldn’t be much in the way of conflict.

New enemies include soldiers using katanas and jetpacks, as well as flying drones, “exploding bots”, and “anti-personnel turrets”. RoboCop will have to contend with all of them if he wants to escape OmniTower intact.

Since this is a standalone expansion, you can experience it without needing to play the original RoboCop: Rogue City, so don’t worry about picking up the original (although it is still available as part of PlayStation Plus’ April Essential haul).

You’ll be able to check out RoboCop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business when it launches on July 17th for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. While you wait, you can refresh your memory with our very own Giaco’s review of the original.
