First Purchase & Maintenance
The rider purchased Yamaha FZ-S FI V4 on 22nd January 2025 for Rs. 1.62 lakh, on-road price. The owner said, “After considering other options, I chose Yamaha over Bajaj and TVS because I have faith in the brand’s performance and durability.“
Up to now, the bike has also undergone its first service at 1,000 km. It will be serviced for a second time at 3,000 km, a third at 7,000 km, and its fourth free service at 10,000 km. The owner is satisfied with the servicing schedule and wishes that the bike does not require too much maintenance in the future.
Mileage & Riding Experience

In his two-month journey, the owner took the bike on his longest ride of 50-55 km. The user shared, “On highways, my Yamaha bike delivered an impressive mileage of up to 56 km per litre, while in city traffic, I got around 40-45 km per litre.” These figures highlight the bike’s efficiency, which makes it a reliable companion for both daily commutes and long rides.
This Yamaha bike comes with a 149cc air-cooled engine that smoothly delivers 12.2 bhp. Moreover, the rider finds the engine smooth and reliable, ensuring a comfortable riding experience. One of the standout features is the riding posture, which he describes as a “game-changer” for both city and highway rides. The bike offers excellent comfort, which makes long trips effortless.
Handling & Comfort
The user shared, “The FZ-S FI V4 excels in handling and comfort. Whether I’m cruising at high speeds or manoeuvring through city traffic, the bike remains stable and easy to control.” The wider tyres contribute to improved grip and stability, which gives the rider more confidence even at higher speeds. Additionally, the braking system ensures smooth and safe stops.
He said that there were a few small things. The gear position is not displayed on the digital console, which would have been a nice feature. The fuel tank cap is also fully openable, which can be a problem sometimes when refuelling. Apart from that, he is extremely satisfied with the overall performance of the bike.
Final Verdict & Rating
After two months of use of the Yamaha FZ-S FI V4, the owner gave it 9 out of 10. He appreciates its good mileage, engine, easy ride, and great handling. All these make it a solid and reliable bike for commuting at a price of less than 2 Lakh.
