OPPO has unveiled its first A Series release of 2025, the OPPO A5 Pro 5G, a feature-packed smartphone designed for durability, performance, and everyday convenience, delivered at an affordable $399 price point. Aimed at budget-conscious consumers, the A5 Pro 5G combines flagship-level technology with rugged design elements, making it an ideal choice for users with active lifestyles.
According to OPPO Australia Managing Director Michael Tran, nearly a quarter of Australians plan to spend under $500 on their next smartphone, a statistic that influenced the development of the A5 Pro 5G.

Tran said, highlighting its affordability, resilience, and modern design blend. When I spoke with Michael at the Find X8 Pro launch and 10-year celebration for OPPO in Australia, one thing that stands out is his passion for innovation and driving the team to stay on top of market trends.
Built for endurance, the A5 Pro 5G boasts IP69 water and dust resistance, Military-Grade Shock Resistance, and OPPO’s Splash Touch functionality, ensuring reliable operation in wet or greasy conditions. Despite its tough exterior, the phone remains sleek and stylish, available in Mocha Brown and Olive Green, weighing under 200 grams.
Performance-wise, the A5 Pro 5G is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. It features OPPO’s AI LinkBoost 2.0 for seamless connectivity and includes an Outdoor Mode and Glove Touch for professionals working in challenging environments.
Gamers will appreciate the AI GameBoost technology, which delivers smooth, consistent performance for up to five hours of gameplay, supported by an advanced VC Cooling System. Entertainment is further enhanced with a 1,000-nit Ultra Bright Display, dual stereo speakers, and an Ultra Volume Mode capable of tripling audio output.
Photography is another standout, with a 50 MP main camera, an 8 MP front camera, and advanced AI enhancements like Livephoto, AI Unblur, and Underwater Photography. Users can also take advantage of tools like AI Studio for creative editing and GIF generation.
