Apple’s performing another executive reshuffle, with the managerial teams of the Apple Music and Global Affairs divisions being moved around as the company continues to optimize its operations.
Apple regularly reshuffles its leadership to improve its development of future services, and the operation of existing ones too. Following after a reshuffle of robotics away from AI teams, Apple has turned its attention to Music and Global Affairs.
According to Bloomberg citing people familiar with the changes on Wednesday, Apple has moved around the management of both arms in a continuation of the process.
Under the Music arm, the group will be managed by two people, including longstanding executive Rachel Newman and Ole Obermann, formerly handling music for TikTok. Newman and Obermann will be co-managing, with oversight from Oliver Schusser, who previously led the unit and currently manages Apple TV+ and sports programs.
Global Affairs shifts
The Global Affairs arm is also dealing with its own leadership adjustments. With Apple’s dealings with governments around the world, including the U.S. and the European Union, it feels a shakeup could help move things forward as it faces more scrutiny.
European Head Matt Browne and Asia government affairs team chief Elizabeth Hernandez will report to VP Lisa Jackson instead of VP of global policy Nick Ammann. Ammann will have the India and China groups reporting to him, headed by Frank Fan and Virat Bhatia.
The change will make the Asia and Europe teams be on the same level as U.S. government affairs, run by Tim Powderly.
With Apple regularly making changes to its leadership roles throughout the year, it’s likely that there will be more changes happening in the coming months.
