Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal announced on X (formerly Twitter) that the production of Ola Electric’s first electric bike, the Roadster X has commenced. He posted a picture of the bike at the factory along with the caption – “First bikes getting built in the factory today!”
More about the Ola Roadster X
The Ola Roadster X is the most affordable electric bike from the brand. It will be available in three variants – 2.5kWh, 3.5kWh and 4.5kWh, with prices starting from Rs 74,999 and going up to Rs 84,999 (ex-showroom).
The Ola Roadster X gets an 11kW electric motor, which accelerates the bike from 0 to 40kmph in just 2.8 seconds (claimed). The electric bike has a claimed top speed of 124kmph. It comes with three different battery capacities: 2.5kWh, a 3.5kWh and a 4.5kWh, with the 4.5kWh battery pack claimed to deliver an impressive claimed range of 200km.
In terms of features, the Ola Roadster X gets a 4.3-inch LCD instrument console. It also comes with smartphone connectivity features like call/SMS alerts and turn-by-turn navigation. The electric bike also has three ride modes – Sports, Normal and Eco.
Underpinnings on the bike include a telescopic fork and dual shock absorbers. For braking, it uses a front disc and a rear drum brake, with a combined braking system (CBS). The Roadster X has 17-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres at both ends.
Ola Roadster X Delivery Timeline
Earlier, during the launch of the Roadster range in August 2024, Ola Electric announced that the deliveries for the Roadster X will start from January 2025. However, if the bikes have just rolled into production now, then they are highly unlikely to get delivered on the promised timeline.
