NSE/BSE Top gainers, losers today: Sensex gains 300 pts, Hero Motocorp lead gains, pharma majors & Tata Motors slump TechTricks365


Shares of Hero Motocorp, HDFC Life, L&T, Bajaj Finserv and Wipro led the gainers of Nifty 50 components intraday. While, Tata Motors, Sun Pharma, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, HCL Tech and Adani Enterprises traded among laggards.

The broader index gained marginally. Sensex rose 307.17 pts or 0.40 per cent to 77,595.67 and Nifty 50 gained 103.45 pts or 0.44 per cent to 23,590.30.

Pharma and auto sectors were under pressure on fears of US tariffs. As at 12.14 pm, Nifty Pharma fell 1.46 per cent to 21,049.80, and Nifty Auto dipped 0.86 per cent to 21,555.90.

Top gainers & losers today

A total of 2,760 stocks were traded on the National Stock Exchange at the time of writing, of which 1,293 advanced and 1,399 declined.

Orchid Pharma, Teamlease Services, Rategain and Swiggy were among the 233 stocks that hit 52-week low today.

Shares of Hero Motocorp led the gainers on the NSE, with a 2.60 per cent increase to ₹3,740.65. HDFC Life Insurance followed with a 1.98 per cent gain to ₹681.65.

Larsen & Turbo rose 1.76 per cent to ₹3,505.60. Bajaj Finserv shares were up 1.63 per cent to ₹1,975.15 and Wipro gained 1.59 per cent to ₹271.65. The IT major had bagged a deal from Phoenix Group, UK.

On the losing side, auto major Tata Motors slumped 5.56 per cent to ₹668.85 as at 12.20 pm, after hitting a low of ₹661.10. According to analysts, the 25 per cent tariff on imported cars and light trucks would largely impact Tata Motors as it exports a substantial portion of its Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) cars to the US.

Pharma majors Sun Pharma and Dr Reddy’s Laboratories fell close to 2 per cent, dragged by the pharma index amid US tariff uncertainty.

HCL Tech dipped 0.77 per cent to ₹1,620.80 and Adani Enterprises slipped 0.76 per cent to ₹2,295. Track live updates on IT stocks here

On the BSE, shares of BF Utilities and Capri Global rallied over 12 per cent, while Kesoram Industries and JB Chemicals fell 10 per cent and 7 per cent, respectively.
