Nabard has pegged total priority sector credit potential in Andhra Pradesh for 2025-26 at ₹4.24 lakh crore, marking an increase of 19.4 per cent over the previous year’s assessment.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu launched the State Focus Paper (SFP) 2025-26 of Nabard at the Secretariat in Amaravati on Monday, which coincided with the 229th and 230th State-Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC) meetings.
Speaking on the occasion, Naidu said sustained investments in agriculture, horticulture, allied sectors, MSMEs, and rural enterprises were significant to propel Andhra Pradesh towards the Swarna Andhra Vision 2047. Leveraging credit and financial support for rural transformation and economic resilience were crucial, he added.
M R Gopal, Chief General Manager, Nabard, Andhra Pradesh said the SFP serves as a crucial roadmap for credit planning, infrastructure development and investment priorities.
Nabard would continue to focus on financial inclusion, cooperative banking reforms and digital credit delivery systems, ensuring equitable access to credit for farmers, entrepreneurs, and rural businesses, he added.
The key credit projections in the paper for the next financial year included ₹2.26 lakh crore (53 per cent of total priority sector lending) for agriculture & allied activities, ₹1.14 lakh crore for the crop loans, ₹43,583 crore for animal husbandry, dairy, fisheries & farm mechanisation, ₹1.28 lakh crore for MSMEs and ₹60,895 crore for housing, education, renewable energy & other sectors.
