Dense monsoon clouding has spread out on Tuesday morning from Mumbai and adjoining north Arabian Sea to south Gujarat and parts of adjoining west Madhya Pradesh.
Satellite pictures this (Tuesday) morning indicated dense monsoon clouds are spilling past Mumbai and adjoining south Gujarat and parts of west Madhya Pradesh in Central India.
Earlier in the morning, the heaviest clouding on the west coast was parked around Cuncolim and Chicalim in Goa, with less intense cover extending to Goa across Chimbet, Pernem and Sawantwadi to Karwar in Coastal Karnataka to the south.
Farther up north, Mumbai reported light rain while an area bounded by Ratnagiri, Chiplun, Palus and Kolhapur in adjoining west Maharashtra was currently witnessing scale-up in rain activity.
Light rain was also being reported from Vasai-Virar to Dahanu to north along the coast of Mumbai; and further interior to Nashik, Khopoli, Pune, Shrirampur, Ahmadnagar, Baramati and Satara in interior Maharashtra.
Heavier rain is. being reported from Coastal Karnataka and adjoining north coastal Kerala from Bhahmavara, Mangaluru, Kasaragod, Payyannur and Thalassery, and less intense over Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Channapattana, Bylakuppe, and Mysuru in interior Karnataka.
Clouds or rain were reported from the rest of Kerala and adjoining hills of Tamil Nadu, including Udhagamandalam, Pollachi, Coimbatore, Valparai, and Tenkasi.
