Hayete Gallot, who runs Microsoft’s go-to-market plan for its entire commercial segment as well as managing Microsoft’s more than 150 innovation centers, is leaving to become Google Cloud’s new president of Customer Experience.
Longtime Microsoft executive and current corporate vice president of Microsoft’s commercial solutions, Hayete Gallot, is jumping ship to cloud rival Google Cloud with Google moving several teams under Gallot’s leadership.
Gallot helped build and run Microsoft’s go-to-market plan for its commercial segments while also managing the company’s more than 150 innovation centers worldwide.
After more than 16 years with Microsoft, Gallot is slated to become Google Cloud’s new president of Customer Experience for Google’s global multibillion-dollar commercial business.

“I’m delighted to join Google Cloud and bring Google’s amazing innovation and AI leadership to customers around the world,” said Gallot in an email to CRN.
“More than ever, in this era of AI, customers are looking for help to go from idea to business impact quickly,” she said. “With this new organization, I look forward to accelerating our customers’ journeys and adoption of AI and all of our solutions.”
New Google Cloud Teams Under Gallot
With Gallot’s hiring, Google Cloud said the $48 billion cloud and AI giant is shifting several teams under Gallot.
Google Cloud business groups including its Strategic Customer Experiences, Strategic Accounts, Global Solutions & Industries, Global Customer Engineering, Global Partner Ecosystem & Channels, and Google Cloud Consulting & Learning Services will be placed under Gallot’s leadership.
Gallot will report directly to Google Cloud’s Matt Renner, president of Global Revenue.
She will officially begin her new role on April 1.
“By putting these teams under a single leader, our goal is to help customers go from idea to business value as quickly as possible,” said Google Cloud in a statement to CRN regarding Gallot’s new role. “This is especially critical with AI, as it requires a highly consultative approach, with a deep focus on business processes and outcomes.”
Gallot’s 16 Years At Microsoft
Gallot was first hired by Microsoft in 2009 as director of strategy and business development for Microsoft Enterprise.
She rose through the ranks in various executive titles over the past 16 years, including helping to build and scale teams across cloud services, software and hardware.
In 2021, she was promoted to corporate vice president of Microsoft Commercial Solutions.
In this role, she built and ran the end-to-end go-to-market plan for Microsoft’s commercial segments including enterprise, corporate and SMB. She also led solution selling for all Microsoft products, while driving the incubation of new products and managing more than 150 innovation centers globally.
Other top positions Gallot held at Microsoft over the years included corporate vice president of Modern Work and Security; general manager of Chief of Staff for Microsoft Global Sales and Marketing; and general manager of growth for Microsoft Office.
Prior to joining Microsoft, Gallot worked at telecom provider Nortel for over a decade.
Google Cloud Vs. Microsoft Q4 Earnings
Both Google and Microsoft recently reported their financial results for the fourth-quarter calendar year 2024.
Google Cloud reported total revenue of $12 billion for the fourth quarter, representing a year-over-year sales increase of 30 percent. Operating income reached $2.1 billion for Google’s cloud computing business.
Microsoft’s Intelligent Cloud group—which includes Azure sales, server products and other cloud services—generated $25.5 billion in total sales during fourth-quarter 2024, up 19 percent year over year. Operating income for the group hit $10.8 billion during the quarter.
