Melstarr Aviations Tech, a wholly owned subsidiary of Melstarr Information Technologies, has ventured into the aviation training sector with plans to establish a modern Flight Training Organization in Karnataka.

The company has committed an initial investment of ₹300 crore, marking one of the largest private sector initiatives in India’s pilot training industry.

Tarun Kashyap, Chief Operating Officer of MATPL, said the company has committed ₹100 crore in the first phase and investment scaling up over the next three years. He added that it is one of the most substantial investments by a private company in Indian aviation training.

The upcoming FTO in Karnataka will focus on developing highly skilled aviation professionals by offering training on the latest-generation aircraft, immersive flight simulators, and globally benchmarked curriculum. The facility is expected to generate 60–100 direct employment opportunities and will begin operations in a phased manner starting 2025.

The company signed a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Karnataka in February, reinforcing a shared vision to enhance India’s aviation training ecosystem and reduce dependency on overseas training institutions.

MATPL’s FTOs are designed to serve aspiring individual pilots, airlines, corporate entities, and government agencies. The training programs will include Commercial Pilot License courses, recurrent training, and certification pathways aligned with DGCA and international standards.

Melstarr Aviations Tech aims to position India as a global hub for aviation education through strategic investments, technology integration and partnerships that drive innovation and operational excellence in flight training.
