KinHanK K18G Monitor review

KinHanK’s 18-inch 4K monitor delivers outstanding video clarity and convenience for the price, but the audio performance leaves room for improvement.

When desk space is tight, it can be challenging to find a monitor that fits without overwhelming your setup. However, it’s just as important to ensure that a potential monitor can deliver on visuals and experience.

With an 18.4-inch display, the KinHanK K18G offers a middle ground between bulky desktop monitors and ultra-portable screens. KinHanK has made Android TV boxes, monitors, and gaming devices since 2021.

KinHanK K18G Monitor – Design

Out of the box, you get the monitor, USB-C cable, HDMI cable, Google TV remote control, USB-C PD charger, and the manual.

At 18.4 inches with a 16:9 aspect ratio, this monitor positions itself between a full-size desktop monitor and more portable options. An adjustable stand on the back rotates up to 165 degrees, making it easier to move around than most monitors.

KinHanK K18G Monitor review: In use on my desk.

It also makes a combo out of being an easy setup monitor and having a Google TV built in. This makes for a reliable way to switch between work and play, or have the K18G be a television box alongside your main setup.

The K18G is all black, with slim bezels and six ports on the sides. There are two USB-C ports for power or display use, one HDMI in port, one HDMI out port, a TF card slot, and a headphone jack.

There are also four buttons on the side for power, brightness, on-screen display navigation, and volume control. Unlike other monitors, I don’t have to reach around to the back to mess with the controls blindly, which is refreshing.

KinHanK K18G Monitor – Use

The K18G works well with its built-in stand. I was able to use it in portrait and landscape mode easily without needing a VESA arm, which the K18G is compatible with as well.

KinHanK K18G Monitor review: The stand makes it simple to transition the monitor into portrait mode.

The portrait mode makes it a great display for coding and reading alongside a main landscape display. I used my MacBook Pro in landscape on top of my usual monitor stand for easy desk use.

As for visuals, the 4K quality shows. The K18G is colorful and enhances both work and entertainment quite well. I enjoyed watching shows in full quality and playing colorful games like Civilization 6.

Unfortunately, the audio leaves much to be desired. I don’t expect theater-quality audio from a small monitor, but the two 2W stereo speakers are extremely tinny.

This is passable for watching TV, but it makes the music experience difficult for songs with any amount of bass or depth.

KinHanK K18G Monitor review: Doubles as a Google TV, and the remote is a nice bonus.

KinHanK K18G Monitor – Casual and accessible monitor

More portable monitors have been coming into the market for hybrid and remote workers, but the K18G presents itself as a solid second monitor option as well as a solid all-in-one for productivity and play.

It’s not easy to take in a backpack, but it’s easy to bring around the house and have it set up for different kinds of setups or occasions. I used it for TV, work, and experimenting with my Linux machine.

It’s not the cheapest, but it holds its quality for nearly all its features— except audio. It places itself in a good middle ground in terms of size and price, and this makes it very accessible to a large audience.

KinHanK K18G Monitor review: The left side has all the ports for input and power.

KinHanK K18G Monitor Cons

Rating: 3.5 out of 5
