Kinetic To Launch A More Practical E-Luna Soon | BikeDekho TechTricks365

Patent images of a new e-Luna variant surfaced online

Quick Highlights :

  • Design patented for upcoming E-Luna variant

  • It is expected to be a bit more practical and gets alloy wheels

  • Will likely be priced at around Rs 86,000

Kinetic Green has patented a new design for the upcoming E-Luna variant. The e-moped  is already available in 6 variants: X2, X3, X3 Go, X3 Plus, X3 Pro and X3 Prime. All of these variants offer decent battery range and practicality for an electric moped. The e-Luna gets a split seat setup, along with a spacious floorboard area. But now, the upcoming version is expected to be a lot more practical than the current variants.

In terms of the pricing the upcoming E-Luna is expected to be priced at Rs 86,000 (ex-showroom), which will make it the most expensive E-Luna in the lineup. The biggest change which can be seen is in the addition of a triangular storage box on the floorboard of the E-Luna. It is likely to be lockable and should help in storing small items. As for the design, it remains more or less the same, but gets a new addition in the form of a storage box at the front, which helps in better practicality.

It gets a telescopic front fork and twin rear shock absorbers, along with this, the Kinetic E-Luna patent also shows alloy wheels. They are likely to be 16-inch units, same as the spoke wheels. This will also allow Kinetic to install a tubeless tyre, which can handle punctures better than tubed ones. The E-Luna in the patent images is likely to get the same specifications as the current X3 prime variant which gets a 2.3kWh battery with a claimed range of 115km. This battery pack takes around 4 hours to get fully charged while the claimed top speed is 50kmph.

BikeDekho Says

The upcoming Kinetic E-Luna is expected to be launched in a few months. The only other alternative is a petrol-powered moped, the TVS XL100. However, the upcoming variant will be more practical than the XL100, and if the storage compartment is removable, it will be even more convenient for different use cases.
