When it comes to retro-styled motorcycles in India, both Jawa and Royal Enfield are names that riders trust. Recently, two eye-catching bobber bikes have made a lot of buzz the Jawa 42 Bobber and the Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350. Both look great and have strong road presence, but they are different in terms of design, engine, and features. Let’s compare them to help you decide which one suits your needs better.
Engine and Performance
The Jawa 42 Bobber comes with a 334cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine and makes power 29.51 bhp and 32.74 Nm of torque. This engine is tuned for a relaxed yet responsive ride. It uses a 6-speed gearbox, which helps during long highway rides. The liquid cooling helps keep engine heat in control even during heavy traffic or hot weather.
On the other hand, the Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350 has a 349cc single-cylinder, air-oil cooled engine that makes 20.2 bhp and 27 Nm of torque. This engine is based on Royal Enfield’s J-platform, known for smooth power delivery and reduced vibrations. It uses a 5-speed gearbox, which works well for daily riding and occasional long trips.
Design and Styling

The Jawa 42 Bobber has a unique low-slung design, single seat, and a floating-style saddle. This bike comes with wide handlebars and bar-end mirrors, giving it a proper bobber feel. This Jawa Bike is bold and stands out with its chopped fenders and clean lines.
The Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350 is more traditional in style. It keeps the round headlamp, tear-drop fuel tank, and upright stance seen in other Royal Enfield bikes. However, it adds a tropical touch with its exclusive paint schemes, white wall tyres, and leather strap details.
Features and Equipment

In terms of features, both bikes get LED headlamps, digital-analog instrument clusters, and dual-channel ABS for safety. The Jawa 42 Bobber has adjustable seat height, and the newer models offer better ride comfort with improved ergonomics.
The Goan Classic 350 keeps things quite simple, just like other Royal Enfield models. It gets the Tripper navigation pod as an optional extra and uses a semi-digital console for essential ride data.
Ride Comfort and Suspension
The Jawa 42 Bobber gets a telescopic fork at the front and a 7-step adjustable monoshock at the rear. It rides on a lower seat height, which gives it a cruiser-like feel. However, the single seat may not be practical for riders who often travel with a pillion.
On the contrary, its rival Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350 uses 41mm telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. The ride is smooth and well-balanced, even over rough roads. The upright seating makes it suitable for city rides as well as weekend trips.
Price and Value for Money
The Jawa 42 Bobber price is slightly higher due to its bobber styling and liquid-cooled engine. It starts at around Rs. 2.13 lakh (ex-showroom), depending on the variant and colour.
The Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350 is more affordable and starts around Rs. 2.35 lakh (ex-showroom). It offers a great mix of performance, comfort, and heritage at a better value.
