Online travel bookings platform, Ixigo’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Aloke Bajpai, in a post on the social media platform X on Saturday, May 10, announced that the company is suspending all hotel and flight bookings to Turkey, China & Azerbaijan amid the ongoing India and Pakistan conflict.
Bajpai called that blood and bookings will now flow together when he announced the suspension of the foreign hotel and flight bookings.
“Enough is Enough! Blood and Bookings won’t flow together. We are suspending all flight and hotel bookings for Turkey, China and Azerbaijan on ixigo,” said Aloke Bajpai, in his recent post on the social media platform X.
Travel Bookings Suspension
As the India-Pakistan tensions escalated into a conflict, many online travel booking platforms like Cox & Kings and Travomint have also announced the suspension of the sale of all travel packages to nations like Turkey and Azerbaijan in a move to boycott the nations.
Cox & Kings director, Karan Agarwal, on May 9, announced that the company has decided to suspend all travel booking offerings for Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, and Turkey as a move to show support for the India amid the ongoing India-Pakistan conflict.
“In light of recent developments, we have decided to pause all new travel offerings to Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, and Turkey. This decision is driven by our commitment to uphold principles that matter deeply to us and the people of our country,” said Agarwal.
Other travel booking site firms, like Travomint, also said that they have suspended all travel packages to Turkey and Azerbaijan to support the nation’s call for boycotting these foreign countries.
“We have decided to support the Indians’ call for boycotting Turkey and Azerbaijan. With immediate effect, Travomint has suspended the sale of all travel packages to these countries,” said Alok K Singh, the Chairman and CEO of Travomint.
The move from the travel booking platforms comes after Turkey condemned India’s Operation Sindoor in Pakistan and said that it increases the risks of an “all-out war” between India and Pakistan. Apart from Turkey, Azerbaijan also denounced the airstrike.
India-Pakistan Conflict
Pakistan’s escalation attack on India through shelling on the night of May 8 to May 9, left behind a trail of destruction on the border regions of Jammu and Kashmir. This came after India launched its Operation Sindoor against terror groups hiding in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) on May 7, 2025.
The airstrike resulted in the elimination of at least five deadly terrorists who were affiliated with either Lashkar-e-Taiba or Jaish-e-Mohammed. One of them was Masood Azhar’s brother-in-law Jameel.
Pakistan fired at least eight missiles towards Kashmir, according to an Indian defence personnel cited in an earlier Mint report. The attacks were directed at the towns of Satwari, Samba, Ranbir Singh Pura and Arnia.
On Saturday, May 10, top Indian government sources said that “any future act of terror will be considered an Act of War against India and will be responded accordingly.”
According to the latest development, US President Donald Trump claimed that India and Pakistan have agreed to a full and immediate ceasefire. However, an official confirmation from the Indian government is still awaited.
