Let’s review their sales numbers.
Production and Dispatch Numbers
Production of both the Activa e and QC1 takes place at Honda’s Narasapura plant in Karnataka, and deliveries for these models began in March 2025. In February 2025, Honda produced 1,862 units of both the scooters and dispatched 560 units. In March 2025, the company manufactured a total of 4,570 units and dispatched 2,102 units to dealers. As you can see, these numbers show a strong start for Honda’s electric scooter operations.
Battery Swapping Network Expands in Bengaluru
Honda has already set up more than 80 battery-swapping stations in Bengaluru, where the Activa e was first launched. Additionally, the company plans to increase this number to over 250 stations by 2026. Moreover, these stations will be located within 5 km of each other, making it easier for users to swap batteries. Customers can choose between paying per battery swap or using the Battery-as-a-Service plan.
The Premium Activa E
The Honda Activa e is Honda’s main offering for daily commuters and personal riders. It has been launched first in Bengaluru, and bookings are now open in Delhi and Mumbai. This electric scooter is sold through existing Honda Red Wing dealerships using a ‘shop-in-shop’ format.
Honda has also introduced Concept Stores in select cities to promote the new EV range. The Activa e comes in two variants – the standard version priced at ₹1,17,000 and the RoadSync Duo version priced at ₹1,52,000.
It is powered by a swappable battery and delivers a claimed range of 102 km on a full charge. The scooter reaches 0-60 kmph in 7.3 seconds and has a top speed of 80 kmph.
Budget-Friendly EV: Honda QC1
The QC1 is Honda’s second electric scooter and is designed for budget buyers and gig workers. Unlike the Activa e, the QC1 comes with a fixed battery. Moreover, it is priced at ₹90,000, making it the most affordable Japanese electric scooter currently sold in India.
The Honda QC1 has a claimed range of 80 km, a top speed of 50 kmph, and accelerates from 0-40 kmph in 9.7 seconds. The QC1 is now available in six Indian cities — Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, and Chandigarh.
