It is hard to choose between Honda Hornet 2.0 and Bajaj Pulsar NS200. Both are young riders’ best choices. Both provide good performance, good looks, and advanced features. The cost of Hornet is Rs. 1.40 Lakh, and that of NS200 is Rs. 1.42 Lakh. Let us compare them.
Engine Performance
The Honda Hornet 2.0 is equipped with an 184.4cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine. It produces 17.03 bhp power and 15.9 Nm torque. The Bajaj Pulsar NS200, on the other hand, is equipped with a 199.5cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine. It produces 24.13 bhp power and 18.74 Nm torque. It can be observed that the NS200 is more powerful and can accelerate better.
The Hornet 2.0 is more pleasant to drive and smoother. The Bajaj Pulsar NS200 has a six-speed gearbox, and the Hornet 2.0 gets a five-speed gearbox. That makes the NS200 faster at high speeds.
Hardware
Both motorcycles have strong frames and robust shock systems. Honda Hornet 2.0 has upside-down (USD) front forks, which give it more stability. The same upside telescopic forks are present in the Pulsar NS200, which are robust and give smooth handling. Both motorcycles have a mono-shock suspension at the rear for comfort. Disc brakes are there on both wheels for braking.
The Hornet 2.0 receives a single-channel ABS, whereas the NS200 receives a dual-channel ABS. This implies the NS200 offers better safety during braking. Further, the NS200 receives marginally taller seat height, making it ideal for taller riders.
Features & Technology
Both the bikes have new additions to attract young buyers. The Honda Hornet 2.0 features all-LED lighting, including the headlamp, tail lamp, and turn indicators. The Pulsar NS200 continues to have a halogen headlamp with LED daytime running lights, which appears to be outdated.
The Hornet 2.0 comes equipped with an all-digital instrument cluster displaying speed, fuel, and gear position. The NS200 gets a partially digital cluster that looks outdated.
The NS200 is also fitted with liquid cooling and fuel injection, which improves the engine’s performance. The Hornet 2.0 is lighter and thus easier to maneuver. The NS200 has a bigger tank size, thus covering a longer distance
