Also, a new production line will be added for making 125cc bikes

Quick Highlights:

  • Honda to launch 3 new big bikes in India starting from as early as next week

  • Honda has made 500 million motorcycles worldwide

  • Set to increase production capacity in its Gujarat plant in India, particularly for 125cc bikes

Honda has been on a roll of late as the brand recently launched the Rebel 500 cruiser, as well as the unique X-ADV 750 adventure scooter. Now, according to our sources within the company, Honda plans to launch the CB1000 Hornet, the CB750 Hornet and the 2025 Transalp XL750 in India.

The first motorcycle out of the three to be launched is the CB750 Hornet. This will debut by the end of next week itself! It will likely be priced at around Rs 8.5 lakh (ex-showroom). This will then be followed by the bigger CB100 Hornet in early June. Our sources say it will be priced at around Rs 12.5 lakh (ex-showroom), making it a value-for-money 1000cc naked bike.

As for the latest 2025 Transalp, it will command around Rs 1 lakh premium over the outgoing model, which is priced at Rs 10,99,990 ex-showroom, Delhi. The 2025 version was unveiled recently, and will be launched in India by the end of next month or in early July.

Increased Production

Ever since the manufacturer began its operations in 2001 in India,  Honda’s sales figures have been going up as each year passes. It registered an annual sales figure of 53,26,652 units in the financial year 2024-25 (April 2024 to March 2025), compared to the 45,30,196 units sold the year prior.

The company currently has a production capacity of 6.1 million units across its four plants in India. Now, the company has decided to invest almost Rs 920 crore to add a new production line for 125cc motorcycles in its fourth plant situated in Gujarat. The new capacity is said to be 7 million units annually, which is a jump of 900,000 units a year.

2025 Honda XL750 Transalp

Currently in its 125cc portfolio, Honda has the Activa 125, Dio 125, Shine 125 and the SP125 in India. The Shine 125 has been the best-selling 125cc bike in India. In fact, 1,632,968 units of the Shine 125 were sold in the previous financial year (from April 2024 to May 2025). This is a massive 34 percent year-on-year, and it goes to show that there’s a huge demand for 125cc bikes. One of the reasons is that 125cc motorcycles lie in that sweet spot between less powerful but more fuel efficient 110cc segment, and more powerful but not-so-efficient 150cc space – offering a balance of both.

Also, Honda recently achieved a milestone of making 500 million two-wheelers worldwide. Now with its expansion plans and new product launches, Honda has no signs of slowing down.
