Honda CD 110 Dream Gets Discontinued- Likely Due To Poor Sales And Tough Competition | BikeDekho TechTricks365

Launched in 2014, the CD 110 Dream was the cheapest Honda bike in India, at least until the Honda Shine 100 came into the picture

Honda has discontinued the CD 110 Dream, marking the end of its run in the Indian commuter motorcycle segment after almost 11 years.

Launched back in 2014, as Honda’s most affordable bike in India at ?41,100 (ex-showroom Delhi), the CD 110 Dream was designed to offer a blend of Honda’s reliability, decent performance and practicality.  This light weight commuter motorcycle had a minimalistic design which was loved by its target customers, and along with that, it also had a reliable 109.51cc air-cooled engine, which made 8.79PS and 9.30Nm. Its riding posture and pillion comfort were pretty good too. Honda did update the CD 110 Dream over the years, including a BS6-compliant engine, features like a silent stop/start system and combined braking system (CBS). The CD110 Dream slowly lost its relevance, especially since the launch of the Honda Shine 100 in 2023.

According to SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers) sales data, Honda sold just one unit of the CD 110 Dream in February 2025, which was extremely unusual for an affordable Honda commuter. Even in March 2025, Honda sold only 33 units, and in April 2025 it did not sell any. The last known price (April 2025) for the CD 110 Dream was Rs 76,401 (ex-showroom Delhi), which made it Rs 9,501 more expensive than the Shine 100 at that time. The Rs 10,000 premium didn’t really make a lot of sense considering it had a similar barebones design as the Shine 100 but just a slightly bigger engine. Moreover, Honda offers the Livo 110 in the premium 110cc segment so the CD110 Dream felt like it was neither here nor there.

In essence, those who want an affordable, no-nonsense commuter have the Shine 100, whereas customers who are looking for a premium but fuel-efficient 110cc bike have the Honda Livo to consider. Phasing out the CD110 Dream should make Honda’s lineup in India a bit more streamlined.

In a related development, Honda is also working on an electric bike that will be positioned as an affordable green alternative to 100cc petrol powered bikes. That said, its launch is still some time away, probably around 2028.
