Grab a free Steam key for brutal Diablo 4 rival ahead of its biggest update yet TechTricks365

The past couple of years have been good to filthy dungeon crawlers like me. There’s Diablo 4, which continues to rumble on with its thematic seasons, then the likes of Last Epoch, Path of Exile 2, and, of course, No Rest for the Wicked. Inspired by Blizzard’s classic ARPG series and developed by the team behind the Ori games, Moon Studios’ early-access hack-and-slash adventure just turned one, and its huge new update, titled The Breach, is the perfect way to celebrate. Extending out the campaign while adding new zones, enemies, and two weapon archetypes, this is an update you won’t want to miss – and we’ve got you covered.

So let’s start off with No Rest for the Wicked‘s brand-new zones, which Moon Studios’ co-founder and director Gennadiy Korol says are, when combined, “essentially double the size of the [existing] world.” There’s the mysterious Lowland Meadows, an expanded Nameless Pass, and the eerie Marin Woods and its woodland hamlet, Marin Village. All of these zones are hand-crafted by the action RPG‘s dev team, with no procedural generation.

But new locations mean new foes. There’s the Timberwhite with his colossal great axe, new archers that specialize in ranged fighting, and the fearsome Rust Reavers, who are equipped with two lethal saws. Myriad bosses are coming, too, but they’re still shrouded in shadows.

Thankfully, there are two new weapons in your arsenal, and various abilities to help you survive whatever Isola Sacra throws at you. First up are the gauntlets, which are perfect for up-close melee fighting, submissions, and the all-new drop kick ability. Wands allow you to channel your magic and sling spells at the hordes, engulfing them in flames or encasing them in pillars of ice.

But the party doesn’t stop when you complete the campaign. The Breach adds new endgame features, with the Pestilence system being the real highlight. Areas of the map can become ‘infected,’ meaning that they spawn enemies that don’t belong to that specific region. When defeated, they drop Torn Resources, which you can burn at any bonfire to increase the game’s challenge level, making things a lot harder but netting you better gear. It reminds me of Diablo 4’s Strongholds, and I can’t wait to dive in.
