FADA Sales Report March 2025: 15,08,232 Two-wheelers Sold TechTricks365


FADA (Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations) has announced its March 2025 sales report that registered a YoY decline of 1.77% and a MoM increase of 11.45%.

In March 2025, the industry clocked in a total sales volume of 15,08,232 units, whereas in March 2024, the industry saw sales of 15,35,398 units. This resulted in a 1.77% decline in YoY growth. However, an 11.45% increase in MoM sales is seen, as in February 2025, sales figures were 13,53,280 units.

  • Hero MotoCorp LTD sold the most two-wheelers in March 2025, with 4,35,828 units. This is a 3.62% decrease from the 452,195 units they sold in March 2024. Moreover, their market share declined by 1.88%.
  • Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India came in second, selling 356,083 units in March 2025. This is a 0.09% decline from the 356,406 units they sold in March 2024. However, their market share increased by 1.71%.
  • TVS Motor Company Ltd. was third, selling 275,030 units in March 2025 compared to 253,067 units sold in March 2024. Their sales increased by 8.68%, and their market share increased by 10.64%.
  • Bajaj Auto Ltd.’s sales declined by 5.73% to 171,136 units in March 2025, compared to 181,542 two-wheelers last year. Moreover, its market share dropped slightly to 4.03%.
  • Suzuki Motorcycle India witnessed a 10.99% YoY growth, with 84,208 units sold in March 2025, compared to 75,872 in March 2024. Suzuki’s market share increased to 12.99%.
  • Royal Enfield motorcycles experienced a 14.88% growth in sales, with 75,409 units sold in March 2025, up from 65,643 last year. Its market share increased to 16.95%.
  • Yamaha India sold 48,114 units in March 2025, which is an 8.49% decline from 52,575 units in March 2024. Moreover, their market share declined to 6.84%.
  • In March 2025, Ola Electric reported total sales of 23,435, a decline of 56.32% compared to March 2024 sales of 53,646 units. Moreover, the company also experienced a degrowth of 55.53% in the market share
  • Ather Energy Pvt Ltd sold 15,467 units in March 2025. For comparison, the company registered sales of 17,429 units in March 2024, reporting a decline of 11.26%. Moreover, on the market share front, the company also experienced a drop of 9.66% this month.
  • Greaves Electric Mobility Pvt Ltd clocked in a total sales unit of 5,642 in March 2025, as compared to 3,010 units sold in March 2024. Due to this, the company saw a growth of 87.44% this month. Apart from this, the company experienced an increase in its market share by 90.82% for March 2025.
  • Bgauss Auto Private Limited sold 2,591 units in March 2025 as compared to 3,114 units in March 2024, which resulted in a drop of 16.80%.
  • Piaggio sold 2,294 units in March 2025, a 16.70% decrease from the 2,754 units sold in March 2024. The company’s market share also dropped slightly to 16.70%.
  • Classic Legends, which offers retro-style motorcycles, sold 2,248 units in March 2025. This represents an 11.74% drop from the 2,547 units sold in March 2024, and their market share declined to 10.15%.
  • PUR Energy Pvt Ltd sold 1,805 units in March 2025 as compared to 461 units last year. This marks a whopping 291.54% increase and a market share growth of 298.59%.

 

The “Others Including EV” category showed a decline of 40.93% YoY, with sales of 8,942 units, compared to 15,137 in March 2024.

Apart from this, in FY’25 year-to-date (YTD) sales, the Indian two-wheeler market saw a total of 1,88,77,812 units sold as compared to 1,75,27,115 units in FY’24. Hero MotoCorp maintained its lead with a 28.84% market share, followed by Honda at 25.37% and TVS at 17.49%. Bajaj Auto and Suzuki rounded out the top five.

Notably, electric two-wheeler players like Ola Electric and Ather Energy grew modestly, with Ola capturing 1.82% market share. While traditional players retained dominance, the increasing presence of EVs signals a shift in consumer preference and industry focus toward sustainability.
