Funcom has revealed the PC specs for Dune: Awakening, and while you’re going to need a decent machine to run it well, you might be surprised at just how accessible it is for a wide range of PCs.
In a press release, Funcom says that the survival game, which is due to arrive in May, will come complete with “several cutting-edge features” when it comes to graphics and performance. First among them is Nvidia’s DLSS 4 with Multi-Frame Generation, although AMD’s FSR and Intel’s XeSS are also supported.
As for the PC specs themselves, only two presets have been revealed: Minimum and Recommended. As you can probably imagine, there’s a pretty significant gulf between those two presets as well.
Both Minimum and Recommended will require you to be running a 64-bit configuration of Windows 10 or 11, and they’ll also both need you to have at least 16GB of RAM (but hey, if you’re a serious PC gamer, you’ve probably already got that).
Here’s what you’ll need to run Dune: Awakening on PC.
Minimum
- CPU: Intel Core i5-7400 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 (6GB) or AMD Radeon 5600XT (6GB)
- Storage: 60GB of space
Recommended
- CPU: Intel Core i7-10700K or AMD Ryzen 5 2600X
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 (8GB) or AMD Radeon 6700XT (12GB)
- Storage: 75GB of space
As well as revealing the PC specs, Funcom has also confirmed that Dune: Awakening won’t be launching into Early Access in May; this will very much be the full release.
You won’t need to pay a subscription fee, and updates for the game will be free, but Funcom will be supporting Dune: Awakening with “a classic business model of optional DLCs”.
You’ll be able to check out Dune: Awakening when it launches for PC via Steam on May 20th. The game’s character creation and benchmark tool is available now if you’d like to take a punt at making your very own Arrakis survivor.
