Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) on Wednesday handed over the Letter of Acceptance (LoA) for operation and maintenance of its Phase II network to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd at a gross cost of ₹5,870 crores.
The operation and maintenance is for total of 118.9 route km spread over three corridors – C3 (Madhavaram Milk Colony to Siruseri SIPCOT II Metro), C4 (Lighthouse to Poonamallee Bypass) and C5 (Madhavaram Milk Colony to Sholinganallur), and three maintenance depots.
MA Siddique, Managing Director of CMRL handed over the LoA to Vikas Kumar, Managing Director of DMRC on April 2 in the presence of S. Krishnamoorthy, Director (Finance) of CMRL, Dr. Amit Kumar Jain, Director (Operations & Services) of DMRC and other senior officials of CMRL and DMRC, a release said.
The scope of work under the contract includes activities related to Operations and Maintenance of all assets forming part of the Phase II Network including all Operation & Maintenance activities at the three Maintenance Depots to global standards in terms of delivery of services to passengers and asset maintenance.
