  • The motorcycle remains the same mechanically

Triumph Motorcycles India has introduced four new colour options for the Speed T4, adding a fresh touch to its modern classic design. The T4 was previously available in a total of three colour options. It is priced at Rs 1,99,000 (ex-showroom).

New Colours

The Triumph Speed T4 was earlier available in these three paint schemes: Metallic White, Phantom Black, and Cocktail Red Wine. Now, it has got four new colour options: Caspian Blue/Pearl Metallic White, Lava Red Gloss/Pearl Metallic White, Phantom Black/Pearl Metallic White, and Phantom Black/Storm Grey. All the new colours are triple-tone, and have the same layout as the Speed 400, with a thin grey stripe on the fuel tank in the middle that separates the two main paint shades. The exhaust also now gets a brushed steel finish in place of the powder coated black one, and a 3D ‘Speed T4’ emblem similar to the one seen on the Speed 400.

Engine

The Speed T4 continues to be powered by the same 398.15cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that makes 31PS at 7,000rpm, 36Nm at 5,000rpm, and is paired to a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch.

Underpinnings

The T4 is the more affordable version of the Speed 400, so suspension wise it gets a telescopic fork instead of the inverted one, but retains the same monoshock. It gets disc brakes and 17-inch wheels at both ends, along with dual-channel ABS.

BikeDekho Says

With the introduction of these four new colours, Triumph has refreshed the Speed T4 with a more upmarket look and made it more appealing to a wider audience. The bike has also recently received a price slash. The T4 rivals the Hero Mavrick 440, Honda H’ness CB 350, and the Jawa 42.
