TVS has launched a new variant of the Jupiter 125 in India. The new ‘DT SXC’ variant of the Jupiter 125 is priced at Rs 88,942 (Ex-showroom Delhi), and is offered in two new colour schemes. The new scooter also gets a new instrument console and comes equipped with a lot of practical features. Here’s an overview of the new variant:
The DT SXC (Dual-tone SmartXonnect) variant is offered in two colour schemes: Ivory Brown and Ivory Grey that give the scooter a very elegant look. The new variant gets a dual tone colour scheme on the body panels.
The scooter also gets a new brown coloured seat cover, and TVS also claims the seat is the longest in segment, at 790mm. The beige interior panels go well with the design and colour schemes quite well. Additionally, it gets a pillion back rest mounted on the silver coloured grab rail as standard for better pillion comfort.
Along with this, the new variant of the TVS Jupiter 125 gets a new colour LCD instrument console that looks really good. The information is also well laid-out and it gets smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth, call and SMS alerts and turn-by-turn navigation as standard. However, it misses out on the voice assist function available in the top-end variant.
Additionally, the scooter also gets real-time and average mileage indicators for added convenience. It comes equipped with some of the modern features like LED headlight and tail lamp, follow me headlamps (these stay on for some time even after the scooter is switched off), and a side-stand engine cut-off function too.
The scooter still remains mechanically unchanged and is powered by the same 124.8cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine as before. It produces 8.56PS of peak power and 11.1Nm of torque with iGo assist (silent starter with hybrid electric assist) and is paired to an automatic gearbox.
The scooter has retained its underpinnings with 12-inch alloy wheels, the front telescopic fork, 3-step adjustable rear monoshock absorber. For the braking setup, the new variant gets a 220mm petal disc at the front along with a 130mm drum brake at the rear with CBS (Combined Braking System)

BikeDekho Says:
In our opinion, this new variant is priced competitively and offers great value for its price. Even though it’s more affordable than the top-end variant, it doesn’t look cheap at all. The new variant ticks all the right boxes when it comes to usable features, so you’re not really missing out on much over the top-end SmartXonnect variant. The Jupiter 125 has now become a more well-rounded package than before, and rivals the Suzuki Access 125, Yamaha Fascino 125, Hero Destini 125, and the Honda Activa 125.
